To our clients

We are so excited to be back to open our doors! We look forward to this next step, but rest assured we are taking safety precautions seriously. We do have a more in depth COVID mitigation plan in place that will be made available to you. This particular post is to address our staff to customer contact, booking procedures, and changes to our services.

Given our location and the business of our parking lot we have decided to allow customers into our lobby for drop off. We do not want to risk dogs getting loose or feeling like we are invading their personal space. We also feel, for that safety of staff and clients, that we can more readily control our environment to keep it cleaned regularly than to enter into our client’s personal space, risking greater chance of cross contamination.

To make our lobby a safe space we have implemented the following social distancing measures and disinfecting practices:

 Plexi glass barriers have been installed with a small access point for merchandise
 The lobby is required to be cleaned once per hour
 All touch points cleaned Door handles, light switches, counter surfaces, card connect, kennel handles
 Floors disinfected with an area spray
 Kennels will be cleaned and used alternately between clients
 Kennels have a two point access, client will use front door and groomers will use the side door. This will help limit shared touch points.
 Used kennel is sprayed with our quaternary disinfectant (effective against corona virus) and clearly labeled dirty, until the 10 minute duration of disinfecting is reached.
 Disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer will also be available for customer use along with a foot operated lidded trash can.
 Receipts will be sent via email
 A digital sign in is being developed to avoid contact
 For current clients we will gather verbal consent to care for their pets
 Clients with matted pets will still need to sign a paper form
 We have also made sure to prepack, wrap or bag any of our loose or bulk products to not only protect them from viral contamination but also from general disinfection sprays done throughout the day
 Bandanas are also discontinued at this time

During this time no walk in services will be available. Our lobby has a single access point through our front door and only one client is allowed in the lobby at a time (no family or friends). All clients are asked to wear a mask in our facility for the safety of our staff and clients alike.

Appointments area to be made on a quarter hour basis to allow proper time for disinfecting and brief consultation to direct client on drop off procedures and to gather contact information. Keeping to a staggered appointment booking system allows for groomers to be prepared to meet with their client and limit the amount of clients waiting outside of the lobby. Clients may arrive early and either wait in their car or take their dog for a quick potty walk.

Given tight schedule we have to adhere to instate your prompt arrival is necessary. Lateness may result in our regular late or rescheduling fees as we may no longer be able to accommodate your appointment.
Making an appointment:

At this time we will not be taking incoming calls. Messages will be checked daily (more often if possible) clients will be added directly to our waiting list.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE MORE THAN ONE MESSAGE.

We are experiencing upwards of 150 messages per day at this point, which takes hours away from actual grooming time.
If you had an appointment during our closure you are already priority booking we will be contacting you first.

If you have called and left a message, you have been added to our waitlist and will be contacted.

To limit the amount of people in our salon, we do not have a receptionist present. This and the added labor of necessary disinfecting steps taken per dog and throughout the day means that our groomers will be taking less appointments to start. When we feel confident in our ability to meet all the standards set in this plan and take on more appointments per day we can increase our booking per day.

Wash and go and Nail trim services will by appointment only on a designated day with limited staff.

Upon receiving a call we may screen over the phone. We also ask our clients to self-screen. I you can answer “yes” to any of the following questions you will not be permitted to come to the salon:
 Have you, or anyone you have been in close contact with, been confirmed positive for COVID-19?
 Are you currently experiencing, or recently experienced any acute respiratory illness symptoms such as:
 Fever
 Cough
 Shortness of breath
 Have you been in close contact with any persons who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19?
 Have you been in close contact with any persons who have traveled and exhibiting the above symptoms?

After screening and booking of an appointment our groomers will give you a basic walk through of our drop off procedures.

Animal drop off:
 For small to medium dogs we have two, two-doored kennels. You will drop off through the front door and groomer picks up through the side door to limit shared touch points. Kennels can be switched between clients to allow for cleaning.
 For medium to large dogs or kennel shy dogs, a clean slip lead will be available to hitch dog on hook to limit contact.
 Slip leads are disinfected after each use.
 All dogs’ personal items must be removed by you and taken home.
 If you forgets we will bag it in a plastic bag and return them at pick up.
 After the dog is secured we will proceed with a basic check in to gather contact information and verbal permission to care for your pet.

Groomers will then pick up dog after you have cleared the lobby to limit contact. A thorough examination will take place in the bath and we may contact the client to go over any problem areas. Please be available to answer our call.
In some cases we may not be comfortable grooming your dog without talking with you first and having your consent to proceed with grooming.
Fresh Start

Our salon is suspending De-matting for the time being. We know that maintaining some coats without professional aid is difficult, but with the number of dogs who have had to go well beyond their regular grooming schedule it is unfair and painful, for both dog and groomer, to de mat. We will offer a shave down service where hair is cut to whatever length can be achieved under matted coat. In the case of severe matting this can take a significant amount of extra labor and may result in a higher cost than our clients are used to. We do believe that it is the most humane treatment in this case and the first step back to a regular grooming routine.

Wash and go services:
We will only be offering wash and go services on Sundays for a limited time and with limited staff. The same drop off procedures will apply but we do ask that you wait in your car for the duration of the service and have your phone readily available for pick up and payment. Since the wash and go service is an express service and our quarter hour booking limitation will apply, lateness will result in cancellation of services and our usual cancellation fee to compensate your groomer for their monetary loss.

Nail trims
Nails trims will also be offered on Sundays BY APPOINTMENT ONLY as soon as we acquire the PPE and disinfectant needed. Due to the amount of preplanning and disinfecting measures we need to take for all clients during this time we cannot offer the casual in and out service we usually do. Until we can relax our disinfecting procedures there will be a $5 disinfecting fee and an additional $5 fee if it requires two people to trim nails. We will not be able to allow owners to assist at this time.

The same drop off procedures for full service grooms does apply. And like our wash and go service we ask that you wait in your car or 6 plus feet away from our salon entrance with a phone ready for contact and payment.

For sanitation we will use an alcohol based wipe along with PPE to clean your pet prior to clipping. For this reason we will not be trimming cat nails at this point as alcohol is highly toxic to cats to come into contact with.

We will perform nail trims in our tubs and they will be disinfected after each use.

With the economic effects of our closure, increased cost of operation, and increase of employees labor we have adjusted our hourly rate up by $5. It is simply the cost of providing our employees a living wage and the cost of keeping our doors open. Many of our pets will also take longer to groom due to the length of time since their last groom. Please be aware that your bill may be substantially higher than normal.
We will be doing our best to keep everyone updated on changes and answering questions.

Know that the safety and health of our community is our priority. Given these circumstances we ask for your patience and understanding in this difficult time. We are all in these strange times together. We continue to hope that all of this is a step forward to something better than normal. It has been a tough couple of months for us all and we are ready to give our furry friends some much needed pampering.
