In the late 1800's Tim Carlon began running cattle in central California and his heirs continue in that tradition to this day. The cattle are wintered in the Sierra Nevada foothills and then moved to the mountain country each spring for summer grazing. No modern day trucks are involved in the move, instead the cattle are trailed over a span of six days to their final destination in the Sierra Neva
das near Yosemite National Park. Six weeks each fall is spent gathering these cattle, and then the drive back down begins. In 2017, we also began raising horses not only for use on the ranch, but also as performance horses. Some of these horses are offered for sale off the ranch and also at the Biennial Horses With A History Sale in Madera, Ca.
