What an absolutely spectacular weekend for us here at Cluckin' Shrimp & Aquatics!! We hosted the legendary Eric Bodrock for a fish room tour on Friday night as he gave us a glimpse into his endless bank of fishkeeping knowledge for a few insights and suggestions for us! It was pretty cool to converse with such a well known breeder in our passion! To my dismay, I did not request a picture of us all together, I failed i know!!!
We attended the Meeting on Saturday where Eric gave a presentation on Corys, such an insightful learning experience for us and the entire club at Heart of America Aquarium Society (HAAS)!
We finished up our weekend making some minor tweaks to our aquatic environments today, and after some insight from Eric who helped discern a bit of our hoplo breeding issue lately, we successfully have another clutch of eggs! Turns out our female may be just too old. She has successfully bred for us a couple times but the past 2 months she's been pretty dormant. We reached out to a friend of ours who also has a marble Hoplo female and she let us borrow hers for the night and less than 16 hours later, we have a disc full of eggs!!! Thank you Julie Wolf Hirner for loaning your girl out!
Eric, thank you so much for all your time and conversations. It means the world to us here that you were kind enough to offer honest advice and suggestions to help us in our journey as aquarium enthusiasts! I learned so much on the pleco and cory side this weekend, more than I have learned the last 2 years combined!!!
