Our primary focus is on pregnant animals, nursing mothers, and underage orphaned animals who are most at risk in overpopulated shelters.

Ember & Pups Update

We brought Mama Ember back to the vet today after her wound swelled again. The good news is that she’s still in great spirits and continues to care for her babies like the devoted mama she is.

Her final staple was removed, and we’ll be following up early next week to see how the wound is healing and what additional procedures may be needed. While Ember is doing well emotionally, her vet bills are continuing to grow as we make sure she receives the care she needs.

✨ Ember & Her Seven Pups — Update ✨

Mama Ember is slowly recovering from the procedure she recently had, though there may still be more ahead for her. Because of the bite wound on her head, we’re taking everything one step at a time — and tomorrow she’ll head back to the vet to have her staples removed and make sure she’s healing the way she should.

But through it all?
She is in beautiful spirits.
She is being a phenomenal mama to her seven tiny pups, who are growing, wobbling, squeaking, and doing absolutely amazing.

And… we’ve officially named them. 🧡

5 little boys + 2 precious girls — each one a tiny miracle.

Mama Ember is still healing from her painful head wound, yet she continues to show nothing but strength, sweetness, and fierce determination. Even through her discomfort, she’s tending to her babies with gentle nudges, soft sighs, and the biggest brave-mama heart.

They’re HERE!
Our brave mama Ember has officially welcomed her beautiful babies into the world — five tiny boys and two sweet girls. 🐾💗 That’s a whole lot of love for one mama to deliver!

Her labor was long, and with her head injury it was definitely uncomfortable at times, but this girl pushed through with the heart of a warrior. Now she’s glowing with pride, snuggled up with her newborns, and already proving to be the most incredible mama.
Her wound is slowly beginning to heal, and with her new little family depending on her, we’re doing everything we can to keep them safe, cozy, and thriving. We’ve put together a special wishlist just for Ember and her seven miracles.

🧡 Ember’s Story

Ember is just a year and a half old, and her journey began in a rural Arkansas kill shelter. Pregnant and alone, she was rescued thanks to an incredible network of partners who helped transport her safely to New York.
But somewhere along the way… something went wrong.
When we met the transport, we discovered a large swelling on Ember’s head and realized her fur was filled with fleas. The vet later confirmed the swelling was a deep bite wound. She’s already needed two procedures—and will likely need another. These surgeries have been incredibly costly, but they were necessary to keep her safe and comfortable as she prepares to give birth.
Through everything, Ember has remained unbelievably sweet and hopeful.
She’s due any moment, and we’re getting ready to care for her and her soon-to-arrive puppies. We urgently need supplies to help this little family. Your support will give Ember and her babies the safe, healthy start they deserve.

Our sweet mama Ember is officially in full pre-baby snooze mode. 💤

She’s snoring like a tiny freight train, completely unbothered, while her little belly is doing the puppy dance underneath her. Those babies are rehearsing their big entrance any day now.

We can’t wait to welcome her precious crew into the world!

Ember has been through so much in the past few weeks, we are so happy to have her here. Her story’s posting soon. This dog is so strong it amazes us.

Happy Thanksgiving from Hope For Cleo Animal Rescue

On this day of gratitude, we want to pause and say a sincere thank you to every person who has stood beside us this year.

To our volunteers who give their time so generously…
To our fosters who welcome scared, hopeful pups into their homes…
To our donors whose kindness keeps us going…
And to our adopters who open their hearts and change a dog’s life forever…

We are truly humbled by your support. We don’t take a single moment of it for granted.

We are grateful every day to be part of each dog’s journey home. It is a privilege we carry with deep respect and love.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to for putting a roof over our heads during our rebuild, and to and for helping us remove the flood damage so we could begin to move forward. Your support came when we needed it most.

There are so many people who helped us this year that listing everyone would fill a whole book.
