I can’t NOT express this enough! Little puppies (not fully vaccinated) can still can be socialized in your home. Once Older pups, start socializing in new places. Don’t just “expect” your dog to KNOW! Everyday IS Training Day!

🐶 So true! It is sooooo important to expose your puppy to LOTS of stimuli.
🐩 However, without the help of a professional, you could accidentally over expose and cause an aversion to a certain stimuli. That can be difficult to undo as the dog matures.

The Ugly Truth:

Our BAER testing Results:
3 Puppies (Black, Orange and Yellow Collars) have Bilateral (Full) Hearing. 1 pup (Blue Collar) is Unilateral (Full Hearing in 1 ear) Hearing and 1 sweet pup (Red Collar) is Deaf.

With that being said, Red Collar girl (Reba) will be staying here with us and at the moment not looking a home. We will start our training together. My goal for her is to have a solid foundation on obedience before handling her over to her new owners. As a breeder, this is my responsibility to ensure she is started off the right paw 😉 Please don’t feel sorry for her, she will be spoiled and super smart and will probably be more obedient than a lot of full hearing dogs 😀 So be on the look out for her updated and training videos. We are ready to climb this mountain! 💗

As far as the Blue Collar male, he will still be living in NH with a wonderful and understanding family. This “disability” does not affect him in any way. And no one will ever even notice. 💙

1st vet visit of the day. Puppies are scheduled for their BAER (Hearing) test. I will not be able to go in the vet office to get puppies or help (for obvious, bc of social distancing due to covid-19). Whisper a little prayer for these guys. These times are tough on everyone. I’m a little nervous for them, but I know they are in great hands!

First of all, Thank You for visiting our page. We are a small hobby breeder located in Smithfield, NC. We have over 13 years of breeding and we are also learning about our cattle dogs on new genetic disease, new vaccination practices, raising our dogs to ensure that we produce great quality puppies with correct conformation, sound temperaments and of course a great bill of health. We love to work close with our new puppy owners. We provide unlimited support. At Del Sol Farm we usually have 1-2 litters a year.

Our foundation dogs: Digger is an Italy Import, he has earned his AKC GrandChampion Champion, 59lbs of all muscles and pure love. He is our main stud. Willow is a puppy that I produced and kept and I do not regret nothing. She is everything I have wanted in a dog. True grit and attitude. She earned her AKC STAR PUPPY with flying colors when she was 6 months old. Kora is our red heeler. She is another puppy that I kept back years ago, there was something to her stockiness that I loved. Her temperament is super low key, she loves to learn new things. Then I have my retired Minnie. I never received my AKC papers from Ginger Helland, so she became the momma dogs to all the other dogs on the farm.

If your are a first time cattle dog owner, please do your research on the breed. Although they are loyal, smart, fun and very active they can also be a hand full, stubborn and will test every once of patience you have. I would love to answer any questions you may have.
