Town of Bethel Dog Park The Town of Bethel Dog Park is a 40,000 square foot park segmented into a large and small dog area which includes a water system and agility equipment.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

To create a fenced in, off leash dog park where well behaved canine citizens can exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering people, property, other dog or wildlife. To maintain a respectful, enlightened co-existence with other park users through the proper supervision and appropriate conduct of dogs off leash. To view the park as a community project in partn

ership with the Town of Bethel that is designed tp satisfy the needs of dog owners and non dog owners alike through the promotion of education, training and recreational activities that facilitate responsible dog ownership and encourage community/member involvement. The Town of Bethel Dog Park is managed by a committee of volunteers. Committee members are: Daniel Sturm, Allen Wakstein, Denise Connolly, Carolyn Akt, Sammy Killilea, Bette Popovich, Jessica Leonard, Jinni Reeves, Lillian Hendrickson, Kevin Gill, Patrick Feeney, and Christine Record.

Please see below a public service announcement concerning residents in the Smallwood seasonal water system:
To All, Welcome to the New Smallwood Water District!

As you may know, the Town of Bethel is acquiring the JD Water Company. The final closing is within days. We look forward to serving you and have hired a Service & Maintenance team and formed a new Customer Support Team to help with the transition.

Our team is already out and about working to get things ready for the 2026 season.

• Water Service will be turned on by May 1, 2026. (always weather permitting)
o We are aiming for sooner, but weather may impact the workflow.
o Water Service is turned on and off in phases so times may vary slightly.
• Water Service will be available through October 15, 2026

Service and Maintenance will be managed by Will Weiss. The maintenance number will remain the same, (845) 583-4211.

Initial Invoices will be mailed by April 1, 2026

Basic Charges:
Residential dwelling $561.69
Residential dwelling with 1 hose $748.93
Residential dwelling with 2 hoses $936.16
Residential hose only $187.23

Additional Services:
Residential Swimming Pool $374.46
Residential Lg Swimming Pool & hose $561.69
Tap/Restoration Charge $50

Good Evening, Please see info below about the JD WATER company;
JD Water Update: The 2026 water bills have not been mailed by JD Water Co. The Town is in the process of acquiring the company and property. Once the closing is complete, invoices will be mailed out from the newly formed Smallwood Water District, owned and operated by the Town of Bethel. We are anticipating invoices to go out early March. DO NOT send any payments until an invoice is received. More information will be uploaded to the Town website as it becomes available under the Smallwood Water District in the department listing.

Based on the many comments and concerns we have heard from residents about water quality, the Town of Bethel voted this past Wednesday night and committed to participating in a new Drinking Water Source Protection Plan to be developed in collaboration with technical assistance providers. It will give us accurate information to help plan, and to guide us when making important decisions.

Here is the link to the Town of Ulysses Plan posted on our website. This is to be used only as a SAMPLE of what our plan would look like.
