Hey there! I’m Jenny, a sweet and lovable girl with a heart as big as my ears (which are pretty impressive, if I do say so myself). I’m still learning the ropes of life, but I’ve already mastered the fine art of snuggling, sunbathing, and being the best girl ever. Day 3 with Jenny the Foster. Her personality is coming out little by little. Today she enjoyed relocating stuffies to the yard and then to her bed.

Listen up, young whippersnappers. My name is Velma Dinkley. I'm in need of a new bingo hall to call my own. I’m a 15-year-old newly-toothless Chihuahua who is a true survivor.

🗺 Located in Bogalusa, LA 🗺

My previous owner...bless their soul...sadly passed away, but I made it to rescue just in time to get my emergency dental work done. Now I’m living my best nappin' life without a single tooth to my name, just listening to the oldies channel. Who needs teeth when you've got wet food and a lifetime supply of donated newspaper? I mean, what else is a gal supposed to do at my age, knit scarves? I don't even have thumbs!!

I weigh less than 10 lbs, but don’t you dare call me “small” or “fragile,” unless you're bringing me some treats. I’m a low-key kind of lady—basically if you're a cat person but your significant other likes to adopt senior dogs instead, then I might be a good compromise. I spend most of my time tucked under blankets, snoozing away like the queen I am. You'll have to check under the blankets before sitting down anywhere, or you might sit on me.

Do I want attention? No.
Do I need attention? Yes, but only when it’s convenient for me. But dont worry, I'm not mean. Even if I wanted to be, it's not like I have a single tooth in the game anymore so what does it matter anyway? However I will definitely give you the side eye if you disturb my nap. 😤

So if you’ve got a cozy home, a few small senior dog friends, enjoy scrapbooking, and you have plenty of puppy pads at home, please consider me!! My daughter, Daphne, is also available for adoption, but we dont necessarily have to go to the same home together - although we really do love eachother and it would be nice to not separate us after 12 years together.

UPDATE 9 AM FRIDAY:

We just spoke with the shelter, and there’s some good news! He’s off the euthanasia list and has surgery scheduled. We still need to find him a loving home, but we have a bit of time.

🚨 URGENT: EMERGENCY FOSTER NEEDED 🚨

This sweet dog has been found and is scheduled to be euthanized tomorrow at 10 AM unless we find a foster ASAP. 💔

We need a temporary safe place for them to stay while we work on a long-term solution. Fostering saves lives—food, vet care, and support will be provided!

Happy Shoutout Saturday to Joey! A few weeks ago, his mom reached out to Tall Tails for help in getting him comfortable with dog walking before her upcoming vacation.

During our initial visits, Joey was understandably anxious, barking a lot as he adjusted to this new experience. It was clear that the changes were overwhelming for him. However, with a lot of patience and some gentle confidence-building activities, this sweet Terrier rescue has started to really enjoy his walks. While he still barks when we first arrive, once he's leashed and out the door, his transformation is truly heartwarming to see.
