Update: Hurricane Helene Donations

I would like to thank everyone who donated items for the victims down South. 3 tractor trailers are completely filled and 4th one is looking to be filled before they leave this Saturday morning. This is “awesome” how in 4 days these tractor trailers have been filled by everyone’s generosity. I want to extend a Very Big “thank you to Ed Yesik and others who helped organize, coordinate, box up the items and load the trucks.

If anyone has any last minute donations to the hurricane you can drop them off ONLY at Edward Yesik Trucking INC, right across the street from Rentschlers, until 8:00 tonight or before 6:00 tomorrow night. Trucks are leaving Saturday morning! Message me if you have any questions.

Hurricane Helene Donation Information

Forwarding locations, dates, times and items requested for the Ed Yesik’s Hurricane Helene Victims’ donations from last week. Ed is working with the DeWeather Cares, a 501c (3) non-profit organization which educates about, prepares for, responds to natural disasters sine 2021. They are based in Pennsylvania and is an all volunteer organization of dedicated and individuals with passion for their mission. You can find more information on DeWeather Cares website.

The Northern Lehigh community is coming together to gather items for those in need down south from the hurricane.

Below is a list of needs that have been recommended. Items used and new are both appreciated! Items will be collected this week Monday-Thursday. (October 7th-October 10th).Drop off locations will be this week from Monday to Thursday at the following locations:

Ed Yesik , owner of Edward Yesik Trucking Company, will be donating at least 2 tractors, trailers and drivers (more if needed) to deliver donated items from the list below to the Hurricane Helene victims in Florida and Georgia.

There’s a meeting planned for this Sunday at 1 pm at the Slatington S***t Club to plan this event’s drop off location, timeframe and other details. When Ed posts details I will post them here for your information should you want to donate items. The more items donated the more we can help those in need.

Quality wool products like Merino wool are graded into categories, like the Super 100s series, based on the size of the wool strands. The smaller (finer) the diameter of the individual strands, the higher or better the rating.

During colonial times, tailoring was almost exclusively a trade done by men. The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation notes that only one female tailor existed back then. She didn't advertise, though, and it's believed she was the widow of a tailor who took up the trade following her husband's death.
