Friends, we have a buddy update.
✨ Please share✨

Raised: $119.41
Still need: $213.59

We have not posted an update in about four months as we wanted him to get settled before his dental and adoption. (Unfortunately we still need $1142 for his dental.)

However, Buddy’s foster family noticed he was rapidly losing weight and stumbling a bit more than usual. So we got him to the vet asap. We have ruled out kidney disease as of now.

We will move forward with his dental if we can figure out a diagnosis/treatment plan. The dental is on pause for now.

We will continue to update this post with more details as we figure out what’s next! Good news he is still happy and loves attention!

Every dollar counts for us, if you cant donate please share!

We are asking for donations for his care. Please specify in whatever form you choose to donate this is for Buddy.

FUNDS NEEDED to help little Trouper!

You can’t see it from the angle of this photo and while we have put a couple of pictures in the comments we turned the photos to black and white to spare you from the graphic image of them in color but little Trouper needs to have surgery to have his rear leg removed tomorrow and to save his life.

Trouper is about 3.5 months old and has already experienced severe trauma and homelessness but we are here to help him with your help!

A kind gentleman found Trouper by North Casey’s in Estherville trying to stay out of sight behind the dumpsters. He brought him to us to see if we could take him in. Something awful happened to his little leg! While we will never know what caused his injury, the leg is severely damaged and infection has set in. All of this and he still is the sweetest little guy!

We have Trouper on antibiotics and pain meds but his surgery is anticipated to cost $850.00 to remove the leg.

We feel confident that with strong antibiotics we can help him beat the infection and he will live a happy life as a 3 legged kitty!

Here’s where you can help….if you can donate to help cover Trouper’s surgery, we can continue to provide the care he needs.

We are always here for the animals that find them selves in what seems to be a hopeless situation but we have many others that need our care so an expensive surgery like this really makes a dent in our budget.

You can donate by clicking the donate button, dropping a donation off in the drop box at the shelter, mailing a donation to ECAS 1703 7th Ave S Estherville IA 51334, Venmo EmmetCounty-AnimalShelter or PayPal (link in the comments)

While you’re at it hit the Share button and if you can also send some positive vibes to little Trouper….he could sure use them! 💕

Thank you for helping us help Trouper!

❤️BUDDY UPDATE ❤️
—— Please Share ——-

Raised: $915
Still need: $1142

We had a vet appointment today for our sweet little friend. Bloodwork, and X-rays were done. This is what we know.

1. His blood work was great! Nothing concerning at all!
2. He is completely blind in his right eye.
3. He has luxating patella’s and arthritis in his back legs.
4. Arthritis in his back.
5. He does have cryptorchidism, we did find the second testicle and believe the “mass” will shrink as his prostate does once he is neutered. (The mass is benign)
6. Severe dental disease in the teeth he has left. They will all likely come out.
7. He has a SMALL crispy mass on his elbow that we need to remove as it is a little suspicious looking.
8. He is now on daily meds to manage his pain from his teeth and arthritis!
9. All things considered, he loved being carried around, his little tail barely stopped moving !❤️

We plan to get his neuter done first and then his dental! (See estimates below)

Our bill today was $464 we had enough in donations to cover it! We have $156 left to put towards his neuter and dental which puts us at $1437 short.

Thank you everyone who has donated! We dont know who donated directly to our vet but THANK YOU! We are still hoping to get donations to cover his neuter and his dental! We ask if you can’t donate, please please share for us.

We cant even begin to explain how much it means to us that you all support us whenever we ask for help. 🥲

We are a very small group, we cannot fund this at all on our own. Once we have all his procedures done Buddy and his brother will be up for adoption!!

We are asking for donations for his care. Please specify in whatever form you choose to donate this is for Buddy.

🐾Friends of the TNR project. 🐾

Please share.

💙Update 4/21 - We have raised enough for Buddys Inital exam, Blood work, and x-rays —- we have an appointment scheduled later this week, we will update you all with next steps once we know! He is in good spirits and loves his back scratches! Thank you all! 💙

As you know we dabble in a little of everything, TNR, rescue, lost dog tracking/ trapping, helping with pet food, ect. We do what we can when we can.

99% of our expenses are for spay and neuter and we don’t have a lot to spare.

We took on an elderly chihuahua and his younger brother as they had nowhere to go after their owner passed away.

The elderly chihuahua is in need of some medical care that we cannot afford. Below is a list of what we are planning for him. We still need to get an estimate and will update this post with a picture of the estimate.

- Exam ✔️
- Full panel of bloodwork ✔️
- X-Rays ✔️
- Pain management (likely)✔️
- Neuter
- Dental

Buddy is in desperate need of a dental, he has lost two teeth since we have had him (5 hours). We believe he has Cryptorchidism he has only one testicle that has descended, and a larger mass around his back end area, this could be cancer, an abscess, or maybe just the way he looks🤞🏻 but we won’t know until we can get him to the vet.

All things considered he is happy, loves to sit on your lap, and explore outside. He is safe and already loved so much by his foster!

We are asking for donations for his care. Please specify in whatever form you choose to donate this is for Buddy.

💙 THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED! We have enough to help this cat family out! Watch for updates as we find out more information! We do know none of the cats are spayed and neutered, and they are from one singular mother. Some will be up for adoption as well.

CAT FOOD NEEDED.

We received notification thatt someone is trying to care for 14 cats and they are completely out of food, the cats have not had food in two days. Any dry cat food and any wet food would be a great help! We have no preference as fed is best in this situation!

Or you can Venmo us at just please label it for cat food!

We are looking for information on this dog who was just thrown out the window of a truck on 4th Ave West in Spencer, north of Casey’s where the gravel and blacktop meet. One of the witnesses said it was a dark silver colored truck, but unsure the brand. They were unable to make out the license plate. On her collar, it says her name is Faith. This happened around 1:30.

Please let us know if you have any information.

**she does not appear injured.

Yes, she has been scanned for a microchip.

We need help with something really weird. But we are desperate, trying to find options for a touchy situation, that really could mean life or death for a pet.

We are looking for a plastic culvert that we can barrow, buy, or if you have one just laying around we’d love to take it off your hands!

It needs to be a wide opening 36” at the smallest, roughly 5feet long. It needs to be plastic so it’s a little lighter and easier to move for one person.

Please let us know if you have one!

We picked up a deceased female Calico (Black, orange, and white) on highway 71 near Ranco. Please let us know if this is your cat. If she is not claimed in 24 hours, we will give her a proper burial.

We haven’t posted a lot lately.

We have been busy cleaning up the after effects of the flood. We lost our storage space and a ton of donated pet items/supplies that we pass out to care takers.

With that being said, the building will be put back together. It is just going to take some time. In the meantime we will be storing all donated items in a MUCH smaller space.

We are in need of about 10 used totes to store and help us organize all the items, in the smaller space! If you have any laying around that you don’t need we would be so grateful to take them off your hands!
