While we would love for all of our reptiles to find their forever homes, animals should NEVER be given as presents.

There are many gift-giving holidays this time of year and well-meaning parents and family members think giving a reptile to their children is a good idea; however, there are much better options that are wonderful gift ideas! You should always RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH the care of a pet before getting one and this is something that you can do together as a family! Reptile books or a zoo membership to see reptiles in person are great gifts to start with.

The main reason that reptiles end up in rescues is because people receive them as gifts without knowing how or being able to care for them. Reptiles need specialized care that is very different than other animal care and you need to know what you’re doing.

If you are interested in adding a new member to your family or you’d just like more information on where to start, please reach out anytime with any questions and remember to adopt first before buying from a pet store!

We have two Ornate box turtles looking for their forever homes!

These little cuties came to the rescue with severely overgrown beaks and nails. They got a much needed trim, but they will have to be monitored for more trimming in the future. Approximately 10-15 years old, these two are curious and active, but they cannot be housed together if they are adopted together. These kids do not play nice with others so they need to stay separated. One male and one possibly female.

🐢We have multiple aquatic turtles looking for their forever homes. Turtles need a lot of space and the general “rule of thumb” for figuring out the minimum size of a pond they need is 10 gallons of water per inch of their shell size! So if a turtle has a shell that’s 5 inches long from the back of its neck to the back edge of its carapace by the tail, it needs a minimum of 50 gallons of water to swim in. They also need sufficient dry land space to get out of the water to bask for optimum health.
Reach out if you’re interested in adopting any of our turtles!

Halloween might be over, but it’s always spooky season with Fluffy! 👻 He has a ghost shaped spot in his pattern, along with a little frog face. 🐸 Long time rescue resident, Fluffy, the Ball python is still looking for his forever family. Around six years old, this picky eater is currently on 1-2 f/t large mice every 1-2 weeks. Fluffy came to the rescue at the beginning of the year while on a hunger strike and decided he only likes to eat f/t large size mice or equivalent sized hopper rats. Fluffy is head shy, but he’s curious and likes meeting new people.

*Update* - Tank has been adopted! Good luck in your new home 🧡

Tank is a special snake looking for a knowledgeable forever home. 💛 He is a male (not proven) albino Burmese Python around one year old. Tank came to the rescue very overweight and had some damaged scales that should go away on thier own with his next couple of sheds. He’s currently on one small f/t rat every four weeks and needs a knowledgeable owner to help him with his weight loss and overall care to give him the healthiest life possible. Let us know if you have experience with large snake species and would be interested in being Tank’s forever home!
