Back to School Blues: Helping Your Dog Adjust
As kids head back to school, our furry family members may suddenly find the house a lot quieter. While routines are great for children, this change can sometimes leave dogs feeling lonely or anxious. Here are a few ways to help your pup through the adjustment:
🐾 Chews for Comfort
Long-lasting chews can give dogs a safe outlet for stress and boredom while also supporting dental health. Just remember — most chews require supervision. Leaving a dog alone with a bone or chew can pose a choking risk, so always choose safe options and keep an eye on your pup. Chews are a perfect option during homework time! 📚
🐾 Interactive Toys
Puzzle feeders, treat-dispensing toys, and interactive games keep dogs mentally engaged during those long school days. A busy brain = a happy dog.
🐾 Safety First
Make sure your pup’s space is safe while you’re away. Pick up loose items they might chew on, secure trash cans, and ensure they have fresh water and a comfy spot to rest. For some dogs, kennel training provides an extra layer of safety and comfort when left home alone.
🐾 Daycare Playtime
Some dogs simply love to be around other dogs and people — which is where our Playcare comes in! A day of supervised play helps burn off energy, provides companionship, and keeps tails wagging until the family is back together again.
Back-to-school season is an adjustment for everyone, but with a little planning, your dog can transition smoothly and feel just as loved as ever. ❤️
