This sweet boy, Dallas, came to us after consuming rat poison. He was lethargic, not eating or drinking, couldn’t stand. We had the privilege to care for this sweet guy for two weeks; he tolerated the feeding tube, he tolerated us constantly rotating him from side to side, he tolerated us expressing loving words of encouragement and motivation to stand when he couldn’t find his footing. We sent him home a week ago, still unable to stand, hoping he’d improve being around his people. Then he came in for a recheck and this boy came WALKING IN. Although it was stubbly and slow, it was an improvement! It’s moments like these that make our job truly a miracle and a blessing.
