So, another 'Regionals' comes to an end! Twinwood had a great show earning Championships and many ribbons and a great time was had by all. Well done to my fellow trainers, their clients and to all Twinwood boarders who took part. Thank you once again to HDS for running it, thank you to all the volunteers that give up their precious time to make the show run smoothly, thank you to the judges and all the competitors and everyone who participated. For me personally, I cannot be more proud of my client Jillian Bowman who only just started riding her young OTTB mare back in January and took home the Intro Regional Championship with a very good 72% - it was so well deserved! The mare also did her very first Training level tests and earned some really good scores - I anticipate big things from this pair in the future! Her other mare also did very well earning a 3rd place in the GAIG 3rd Level Freestyle Champs and 5th in the SWDC Champs. Jillian also earned a 4th place in the Equitation Championship class. Huge congratulations to Jillian and everyone else who earned medals, championships or just better rides or scores in general - this is no easy sport!

A quick shout out to Emily Mullins who bought my young horse 'Rocco' a year ago (he was my project horse whilst Rue was pregnant and having her Glamourdale baby). Sarah Denham (her trainer) had a fantastic show earning some very high scores at First Level on him - winning 4 out of the 6 classes she entered. I could not be happier with where he ended up and at how much Emily loves him - it is always your hope that a horse you sell on ends up loved and well looked after. Made me so happy to see him looking so good and I do believe he remembered me (or so I like to think) as he slobbered all over me and demanded cookies! I hope to see Emily compete him herself next year and wish every success for their future together.

Hi everyone, I currently have a couple of 'training stalls' available at The Equestrian Center at Twinwood. This absolutely beautiful facility is just west of Houston (easy access from the Westpark Tollway) and has so much to offer - an indoor arena, an outdoor dressage arena, an outdoor jumping arena (both with lights), cross country jumps, two roundpens and a walker! There are also over 100 acres to trail ride on and a racetrack to gallop on - what more could you want? I have over 40 years experience and am happy to teach novice to advanced riders in dressage, flatwork, pole work, cavaletti or jumping and have pure dressage clients, many eventers, older amateur ladies just wanting to have fun or learn to be better riders and teenagers in my program as well as the 'serious competitor'. My clients have been successful at local schooling shows and recognised Regional Championships and 3-star events and I am extremely proud that my daughter was ranked in the top 100 FEI rankings with her 5 star grand prix dressage horse a couple of years back! I am originally from the UK and have my BHS qualifications and was a Pony Club Chief Instructor and Examiner and was a British Dressage judge for many years. Whilst in the USA, I have earned my bronze and silver medals and more recently, just bred my very own first foal. To be part of this amazing Twinwood team, you would be required to have just 8 lessons a month which could include lunging or pessoing as an alternative to lessons. I work at Twinwood 6 1/2 days a week, including evenings and weekends so can accommodate anyone who works or goes to school and has to ride later. Please look up the website to find out more about 'Twinwood' and to watch the amazing video of the facility and to find out more about me. If you require any further information or would like to chat or visit Twinwood, please PM me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi all, I currently have 'training stalls' available at The Equestrian Center at Twinwood. I am happy to teach novice to advanced riders in flatwork, pole work or jumping and have pure dressage clients, many eventers, older amateur ladies just wanting to have fun and teenagers in my program. You would be required to have 8 lessons a month and my daughter 'Carly' (who is an experienced Grand Prix rider) is available to ride if and when she is available and would be organised separately and would be additional to your contract with me. Twinwood is an absolutely beautiful facility (look up their website [email protected]) located west of Houston. If you require any further information or would like to chat or visit Twinwood, please PM me.

Hi all, Just a reminder that as of 1st April, 2025, the rules regarding headset use at USDF recognised shows will change. Following eventing and show jumping, USDF will now only allow competitors to have an ear bud/ear piece in only 1 ear for safety reasons whilst being coached, therefore we can no longer use the 'Sena headsets'. I shall be bringing my ceecoach in future for everyone's use and have purchased a one ear headset which I hope will work for everyone. Of course, feel free to purchase your own one ear headset to work with my ceecoach 1 if you prefer (it is the older version, not the wireless version). This is for competitions only, for normal lessons I will continue using the Sena system! If you have any questions, let me know.

So as its officially 1st March today, I can now say that as of next month I will have been at Twinwood as a boarder and as a trainer for 15 years!!! Time has literally flown by, Fulshear has expanded unbelievably and Simonton will be next and although Twinwood has changed somewhat over the years and all for the better with so many wonderful upgrades, it has and will always remain my beloved home from home! I feel very thankful every day, coming to work here amongst this little piece of heaven and tranquility - long may it continue. Here's to the next 15 years!!!

After many, many years, I find that I actually have spaces in my schedule for more lessons! Also, I have the possible potential for 1 or 2 'training stalls' which requires taking 2 lessons/week (8/month). PM me if you wish to discuss or require more information. Dressage riders and eventers, novice to GP welcome.

Huge Congratulations!

First competition of the 2024 season in the books ✔️

Despite a sketchy start in -3° temperatures ❄️ with some of the horses having some rather frisky moments 😳, we actually managed to keep ourselves together for great results

Young superstar Monty owned by Ayse Vrielink, just keeps delivering. He scored a near 73% for a win at his first try at 3-3 and was high point open winner of the day

Animo owned by Donna Phillips yet again pulled off another highlight test for a 74% win in the Int 1 and a fantastic 75% in his freestyle. High point winner for FEI and Freestyle over the weekend

Fancy owned by Jamie Crawford debuted his first time at 4th level and although the first test is something we don't talk about 😆🙈, he redeemed himself for a 70% win the second day

Ziggy owned by Connie Mastro also performed well for 65 and 70% at 3-3

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

HDS WINTER SHOWS I AND II

Well, despite the weather being absolutely freezing cold and my fingers and toes being numb most of the weekend, I am absolutely delighted with the results from the first show of the season, making it all worthwhile. No less than 8 high point and reserve high point champions over the two days!

SATURDAY
Champion Open (National level) Carly
Reserve Amateur Champion (FEI) Kacie
Champion (Freestyle) Carly
Reserve (Freestyle) Jillian

SUNDAY
Champion Amateur (National level) Nancy
Champion Open (FEI) Carly
Reserve Champion Open (FEI) Erik
Reserve Champion (Freestyle) Jillian

Well done to all of my clients! A special congratulations to Nancy in her very first recognised show (scoring an amazing 69%), Erik doing his first PSG test in years and winning the test out of 8 very good riders on Sunday (with a 68%), Kacie earning her Regional qualification at Intermediate level first time out, Jillian who got the 65% at Freestyle (on a tricky OTTB mare) that she’s worked so hard for and of course, my daughter Carly (whom I am so incredibly proud of) getting over 70% in all of her tests on Sunday, with a massive 74% at Intermediate level! Thank you to everyone who braved the cold to come out and watch. Thank you to my friends and colleagues for all your support. Thank you to Twinwood for the amazing facilities that enable me to keep teaching throughout the year, no matter how much the freezing cold and the boiling hot temperatures try to interfere with our training!!! I am one very happy and proud trainer!

The HDS Schooling Show Championships/Open Show held every year in December is such a fun event. It is a great start to the festive season and everyone was in the best of spirits. All of the Twinwood Trainers were at the competition, either riding themselves or with their clients and we all had a fabulous time, starting with a ‘happy hour’ on the Friday night after bringing horses in, bedding down and coaching.

I had 11 horse/rider combinations, two in the Championship classes! Everyone did really well and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We had horses who hadn’t competed in years, riders who hadn’t competed on their horses ever, rider/horses trying a new level and some really fun freestyles with Christmas music!

Thank you to HDS for organizing this great show every year. Thank you to the judges and volunteers that make this show possible. Thank you to my fellow trainers, competitors, friends, family and those who came to support their fellow boarders. Thank you to The Equestrian center at Twinwood.

The ‘serious’ stuff starts in January with the HDS Winter Shows I and II on 20th/21st January. Hope to see many of you there. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!!
