Hello and welcome to all our new followers. Thank you for joining us here!
Our mission is simple but urgent: to save the unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals of Avoyelles Parish. Based out of Simmesport, LA - we are five women strong, volunteering our time after our regular jobs to help the animals who need us, educate the public on proper animal welfare, and provide tools and resources whenever we are able.
Facebook is our strongest avenue to reach more people and shine a light on the pet overpopulation crisis running havoc across our parish.
The truth is, we are outnumbered by the strays running everywhere. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t see animals wandering the streets. There isn’t a day we don’t receive calls, emails, or messages from desperate folks trying to find help for an animal that showed up on their property or hurt.
We don’t have a parish animal shelter, we don’t have animal control, and we don’t have affordable spay/neuter programs for the people here. What we do have is our amazing volunteers, our generous supporters, and our rescue partners. We rely deeply on these community connections to continue creating a safe place for both humans and animals.
