You’re probably wondering… why a Christmas picture? The short answer is that it’s his birthday and it’s one of my absolute favorites. The longer answer is that it’s one of my favorites because there really aren’t that many photos of Scotty. He was much happier behind the scenes (typical Virgo). So I cling to these little snapshots of his awesomeness wherever I can find them. And as I wallow in the memories, struggling to just get August behind me, I’m starting to see that next comes September (my mom’s birthday and Zero’s birthday) and then Halloween (that’ll be a doozy) and then Christmas, and the memories just don’t let up, the ache just gets stronger as the shock wears off, and this grief is never gonna end because the love is neverending. Hug your people, save the candid photos that they hate, and do something kind today. We love you and miss you Scotty. Happy birthday babe ❤️

Just a little Tuesday pep talk…
I was reminded today that the voices in my head are my worst critics, and I’m gonna have to shout them down with more “good girl” affirmations. ICYMI, I’ve decided that every time I tell Tuey she’s a good girl, I have to tell myself too, and give myself a silly reason why. So, today Tuesey was a good girl for drinking water, doing her business and sitting for treats, while I was a good girl for getting out of bed, for finding a silver lining & positivity in a conversation where the other person was just complaining, and for getting shopping and cooking done. Y’all are good girls and boys too 💚💖💜

I miss feeling like a participant in my own life instead of a person constantly trying to survive it.
I miss the calmness in my soul, that came from knowing I was loved.
I miss my stupid jokes… because I just don’t make them anymore since there’s nobody to get them.
