Many have you have seen from the Summit Daily article on Sunday 30 October, we are evolving and growing as an organization in several exciting ways. As a symbol of that change, we have renamed ourselves Summit Valley Horse Center and anticipate rebranding ourselves in other ways over the coming weeks.
The winter months will be a time for us to continue to refine our plans for 2023 and beyond, and your voice and support will be an important part of shaping that future. How?
First, through several different methods, we plan to reach out to our community to more deeply understand the needs, perspectives, and ideas that individuals and our non-profit partners have to help us better serve the community. This will inform how we shape our programs and the ways we interface with the community going forward. Your input in this process will be essential.
Next, as a key member of our volunteer community, we invite you to help celebrate our transition and evolution by coming to our Volunteer Party Dec. 5, The Yacht Club, 367 Flyline Drive, Silverthorne from 5.30pm till 8.00pm. Sign up to let us know you’re coming, and bring a dish to share, we will supply beer, wine, and soft drinks. We anticipate this will also be a time to answer your questions and share updates with open dialog.
Finally, we ask for your patience and understanding as we rethink who we are and want to become. Communication may be a little choppy, the website will likely go down as we create a new one, and there may be an air of uncertainty as we thoughtfully imagine our future. Please hang in there with us!
That said, here’s what we know for sure about 2023:
We will continue to need your ongoing dedication and support as a organization and ranch that connects people and horses – people helping horses helping people
Our herd will likely shift to include both rescue horses and some more reliable, immediately rideable horses.
We will expand our programming, and experiment with things we haven’t done before.
We will be tailoring some of our programs to more precisely meet our partners needs and time scales.
We will be continuing the wildly popular Horsemanship program where individuals can learn natural horsemanship skills working alongside experienced trainers.
We want to offer more programs for kids 4-17 where they can work with big horses and gain horse skills as well as self-esteem and confidence. But don’t worry - the minis will still be around for Meet the Minis and hands on love!
We hope to expand our membership to include people that want to come out to the Ranch and enjoy the beautiful 80 acres but who do not want to be hands on with the horses. These volunteers will to be able to come and help with maintaining and developing the facilities, potentially building a trail system, expanding the obstacle courses and more!
Horse sponsorship will be evolving so that sponsors have more hands on time with their horses, and we hope to have more rideable horses from the beginning of the season so that we can offer more riding lessons to our volunteers.
We need your continued support at ReSaddled Thrift store, you can donate to, volunteer at, shop at and recommend to your friends; 252 Warren Ave, Silverthorne, open 10am till 5.30pm every day!
With deepest appreciation from all of us for everything you do to support us,
