It was a bubbly afternoon for the Trained Puppy students and their buddy Hatsi, a dayschool student. Introducing new things to your puppies is always entertaining, but also very important! The more new things they face/encounter and “survive” (or even better, have fun!), the braver they are when then next new thing approaches. Remember, your puppy’s brain is rapidly developing! Use silly things like bubbles to keep your pup’s brain engaged and absorbing the world around them. You don’t want them to shut that brain off because they have too much routine and control.
We’re helping puppies understand how to process this crazy human world through experiential learning, and having fun while we’re at it! You can’t teach a student what to think, but you can teach them HOW to think —- rather than promoting a React/Response-then-observe dynamic.
