PSA for Horse Owners

We received an email yesterday that the equine service at the U of I vet school will be out of service from now until at least March 17. The closest referral facility for equine emergencies is the Purdue vet school in the meantime. We will keep you updated as we receive new information.

2025 Announcement for Horse Owners

Dentistry for our equine patients will again be offered through Chenoweth Equine Dentistry, as we have done for several years.

All horses should have their teeth checked at least once a year, every 6 months is recommended for horses 5 years old and under and 20 years old and over.

Other services offered during a dental visit:
- sedation for dental exam
- vaccines
- Coggins test
- sheath cleaning

Prices for dentistry:
$200 for one horse at one location
$175 per horse at multiple horse location

We are so thankful for our wonderful clients and patients and hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving. The office will be closed November 28 and 29 so that our employees have time to enjoy the holiday. We will reopen on Monday, December 2 at 8 AM.

We have scheduled a dental day with Chenoweth dentistry for October 30. This will most likely be our last dental day of the year. If you need a horse done before winter, please call the office ASAP to reserve a time.

Dr. Kamerer will be out of the office on Friday, July 19. Vanessa will be working from 8 until 1 if you need to schedule appointments or get refills.

Dr. Kamerer will be out of town July 3 - 5. Vanessa will be in the office July 3 from 8 AM to 1 PM to schedule appointments and refill medications. If you have a pet that needs calming meds to help deal with fireworks, contact the office ASAP so we will have time to fill the prescription. Thanks and enjoy the July 4th holiday!

The last equine dental day of 2023 will be November 15. This will be your last opportunity to get a horse done until the spring. Call the office if you'd like to get a horse on the to-do list.

We have added an equine dentistry day on August 29. We could use a few more horses to do. Please call the office if you would like to get a horse on the list. There will probably be only one more dentistry date this fall.

Our clinic is looking to add a new team member as a veterinary assistant/technician. Our office is open 4 days a week and not on the weekends. We are a small privately owned clinic that offers a low-stress work environment. Our new team member will be someone who is punctual, reliable, flexible, and has excellent customer care skills.
