State Laws as they pertain to animal control,

We would like to thank the ladies at Goin' Postal - Benton for including us in their holiday donation drive, as well everyone who donated! We received blankets, towels, and toys for the shelter animals! And not only do we appreciate you, our animals do too! THANK YOU!❤🐾

PET OF THE WEEK: MEET MACAROON!
This adorable male kitten was featured as "Pet of the Week" on the news station this morning! Macaroon was brought to the shelter with his siblings in September and only 1 out of 5 have been adopted so far. When they first arrived, they were just over 1 month old. They have spent over half their lives with us and are considered "long-timers'--even though they are only 4 months old! Macaroon is a sweet, friendly, cuddly kitten who's looking for a FOREVER home. He enjoys spending time with his littermates and would love to be adopted with one of them--but they can be adopted separately. His adoption fee is $50, and it includes his neuter, microchip, and vaccinations. If you're looking for a furry friend to share your life with, please consider adopting Macaroon! If you would like to meet Macaroon and his siblings (Beignet, Biscotti and Cannoli), they are located in our Cat Adoption room.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO OUR SHELTER DOGS AND CATS!🐶🐱
Thanksgiving came a little early for our shelter friends, thanks to Companions of CPAS, who cooked, prepared, and delivered a special Thanksgiving meal for ALL of our dogs and cats at the shelter! Every animal received a special bowl of yummy, healthy food and they absolutely LOVED every bite! We are so thankful for the support of Companions of CPAS throughout the year and the many ways that they help our shelter animals, and we are also thankful for the support from our community and Facebook followers! THANK YOU from the shelter staff and all of our furry friends! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!🤎🧡💛

TIPS FOR A SAFE THANKSGIVING FOR YOUR PETS!
Below are some great tips on how to keep your pets safe for the holiday season! Make sure that your pets don't eat anything that can be harmful to them, make sure that your pet is wearing a collar, and is microchipped with current information, and make sure that your pet is safe from doors and guests coming in and out of your home! Please be mindful that some pets are not accustomed to a lot of company at one time in your home. The stress and anxiety could result in bite/scratch incidents, so please do your best to keep your pets and everyone safe. We hope you and your pets have a Happy Thanksgiving!🍁🐾

UPDATE: MIGHTY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!!

MIGHTY THE CAT NEEDS AN EXPERIENCED ADOPTER OR RESCUE️️!!🐈‍⬛
Mighty was surrendered to the shelter earlier this month, and she needs your help! This sweet, eight year-old female cat wasn't feeling like herself and had symptoms that suggested she could be diabetic. After a trip to the veterinarian, it was confirmed that Mighty is diabetic--at least, for now. The good news is that the veterinarian is very optimistic that with a special diet and insulin short-term, the diabetes might be able to reverse, but she will likely need to stay on a special diet for diabetic cats for the rest of her life. Mighty seems to like her new food, and she just started receiving her insulin this morning. She goes back for a check-up in three weeks to find out if there's any improvement. We are looking for either someone who might be interested in adopting Mighty--adopter must have experience with a diabetic cat--or she needs a medical rescue. Until an adopter or rescue can be found, Mighty needs to be with an experienced foster who can ensure that she is getting her insulin shots twice a day--12 hours apart. ALL SUPPLIES WILL BE PROVIDED (Special food, insulin, and syringes).
**Mighty is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.
