I’m the only owner of Nirvana K9 Training LLC and its registered trade name Everstead K9 Academy. I am not affiliated with anyone using this name and I did not give anyone else permission to use this trade name.

Please do your due diligence when hiring someone to handle your dog. The least they could do is get their own business license and name.

I’m sick of people claiming they love dogs, then blatantly ignore dogs when they give off signals of “leave me tf alone”… I’m sure you loooove dogs. But respectfully…Love them from afar if you cannot listen to them or respect them. Not every dog wants to be loved on by you, weirdo.

What is place command? It’s a taught behavior for the dog to go to their bed/cot/elevated surface and RELAX. I don’t mean standing up and anticipating something. I don’t mean sitting up and watching every single thing that moves.

It’s go lay down, relax, sleep. You are safe. No one will bother you. It’s ok to turn your brain off.

The only way for a dog to truly relax, truly teach an off switch, is applying a looooong duration session. Would you rather take a 10 minute nap or a 2 hour nap? Short duration place does nothing to address the dog’s mindset. Just like a short nap may make you more tired than a nap where you get to reach REM cycles.

But it’s also super nice to park your dog somewhere while you get your shoes on and such 😂

Are you tired of your dog running around the house, constantly trying to find something to do or getting into trouble? These behaviors can be destructive and honestly, a nuisance to dog owners everywhere.

My dogs would counter surf, pace the house in anxiety looking for something to do, bark out the window… introducing place command eliminated all of that without correcting it. Place command gives them a job while simultaneously practicing impulse control!
