Riding In Harmony LLC

Riding In Harmony LLC I grew up in Upstate NY and started riding when I was 12 years old. I competed in Hunter/Jumper and basic dressage for 5 years.

Dressage Rider
Assistant Trainer
German Cavalry Style Apprentice - Horsemanship and riding style catered towards the horse's and rider's biomechanics to create a hardy, athletic, durable horse. I started my career as a Working Student for my very first instructor, where I was able to assist with lessons and learn about horse management and care. Simultaneously, I worked as an Exercise Rider at a

Therapeutic Riding Center. In college, I became a Working Student for a trainer who specialized in dressage. After a few years off from horses, due to moving for graduate school, my husband and I moved to WI where I became an Assistant Riding Instructor at a local Morgan facility for 2 years. Here I was able to teach beginner Hunt Seat and Saddleseat lessons. I start my students with an emphasis on learning balance and with a focus on Equitation. I have brought students into the show ring and my previous students placed in all their classes, even taking a few Firsts and Championships. I am now specializing in Dressage and retraining OTTBs.

The first official Pony Club meeting is officially in the books! 📚🐴✨ (And yes, it’s not too late to join!)

I could not be more proud of this incredible group of riders who joined us for our inaugural meeting. We kicked things off with a fantastic mix of hands-on unmounted education and team building, and the energy from these kids was absolutely contagious.

Pony Club is so much more than just riding—it’s about developing true, well-rounded horsemen and women, learning teamwork, and building a foundation of safe, educated horse care from the ground up. Seeing everyone dive into the material, ask great questions, and support one another today tells me we are on track for an amazing year.

👉 Missed the first meeting? Don't worry, there is still room to join our troop! If you want your rider to build lifelong friendships, learn incredible horsemanship skills, and be part of this amazing national program, we would love to welcome them.

Contact me directly via PM or drop a comment below to get all the details and secure your spot before our next meeting!

A huge thank you to all the parents for your support in helping us launch this new chapter, and to our wonderful riders for bringing so much focus and fun to the barn today! 💚💜

We are so incredibly proud of this girl! Ally has officially been riding with us for a year! 🌟

Ally came to us after taking lessons elsewhere; she was timid, shy, and very anxious about riding after a fall. Watching her confidence blossom over the last year has been amazing. Ally went from not wanting to trot to now never wanting to stop!

Understanding the technical aspects of riding and the "why" behind what we do has really helped Ally progress. She isn't just riding; she's learning the mechanics that make it all work.

She has goals to hit the show ring in the future, and she definitely has the work ethic to make it there. Keep it up, Ally! We are so proud of you! 🐎💨

She is not easy, by any means...but she makes me laugh!

Training horses isn't easy. You need to know when to push and when to back off. It can be a fine line. In training Harmony, I've never doubted myself more along our journey, but we have had an amazing support system.

Thank you Kerstin McNiesh for always helping me know where that line and most importantly, teaching me to listen to the horse rather than being dominating. Thank you for teaching me that the relationship is what is most important! ❤️🐴

🐴 Harmony’s first time outside in 2026!

Prepping for competition season, it is so important to get horses into different environments. Even just being outside compared to inside makes a huge difference! Harmony loves being out on the grass arena.

Today we worked on some baby leg yields and baby haunches-in. Her left shoulder is significantly weaker than her right, so we have to be very intentional about our training to help her build that left side up. We are focusing on lateral work and lots of bending exercises to help her strengthen it.

Coming from the Saddle Seat world, I tend to be very heavy with my hands. That is something we are constantly working on! It has gotten so much better over the last three years, but my lessons focus a lot on using seat and leg to bring Harmony back, rather than just hands. We are getting there!

Thank you Kerstin McNiesh for your patience and how far you have brought us! Thank you to our forever favorite videographer, Gabriel Sims! You are the best!

What an incredible weekend at the Annual Instructors Symposium! 🐴✨

Getting the chance to work with National Examiner Christina Keim was such an inspiring experience. There is something so grounding about returning to the roots of jumping and dressage standards—it’s a powerful reminder of why we emphasize formal education and biomechanics in everything we do.

It was fantastic to see Pony Club taking the time to equip local clubs and centers with the tools they need to plan successful testings and align with national standards. We are walking away with so much clarity and momentum for the future!

Feeling incredibly thankful for this community and so excited for the journey ahead. 🥂📈

Current status: Counting down the next 27 days. ⏳

Exactly 27 days until I can officially step back into my role as a full-time Assistant Trainer for the next few months! 🐴❤️

I’m looking forward to trading the classroom energy for barn energy, and I couldn't be more excited. I’m ready to stop giving the horses the "leftover" energy and start giving them my best. See you at the barn! 🍎💪
