Should be only dog in home

Professional Goofball, Enzo, Reporting for Duty! 🐕

My name is Enzo, and if there was an Olympics event for sheer silliness, I’d win the gold medal for sure! 🥇 I’m an (almost!) year and a half old pitbull mix, weighing in at 40 pounds of loving goof. I’m a natural extrovert, and I’ll do anything it takes to wiggle my way into the heart of every new human I meet. And I really mean wiggle, with my whole body, snout to tail!

I love walking on a leash, but I don’t really trust other dogs and want my space. When it comes to humans though, I’ll take all the scritches and lovin’s I can get! And don’t worry, I’ll let you know when I want them. I’m a master of mouth noises, with a whole repertoire of song, debate, and sheer alien gibbering will send you rolling on the floor in laughter!

Are you ready to be the forever partner for my comedy act? 🎤🐶 Set up an appointment to meet me!

Microchipped? Yes
UTD on vaccines? Yes
✅ All children and people
Needs to be placed in a home without other animals

Altered? She had surgery to be spayed, but it was unsuccesful, her ureters are twisted around fallopian tubes. She does not get a period.

Reason for Surrender/Rehoming? This was never meant to be a permanent placement. My home and community/HOA will not allow her breed.

Any health problems? No health issues. She does need her a**l glands expressed at the vet every few months.

Is the dog on any medications? If so, what and why? No

Where did you originally get/find this dog? My daughter found her and brought her home.
We didn’t want the shelter to euthanize her so we have been looking for a new home for her ever since.

General Information:
Rue is a pitbull and is approximately 5 years old according to the vet. We suspect previous abuse based on some scars and her separation anxiety. She was found by my daughter who brought her home without my permission and we have been unable to find her a new, permanent home.

Personality: Rue is a very lovable, sweet dog who loves a lot of attention. She loves to snuggle and be close to people.

Other dogs:
Rue has dog aggression and cannot be near other dogs. She has had professional dog training and we have learned skills for having successful walks. She responds to "out" and keeping her attention on you while other dogs pass by. When she goes to the groomer, they are aware of this and has not had any issues at the groomer.

Cats:
Rue cannot be near cats or any other animals. We have worked on all of it with the trainer. She has gotten better but cannot be in close contact with other animals.

Children:
Rue loves children. She is very calm and protective of children. She loves to snuggle with my son(12) and my niece(7) who visits us.

Meeting New People:
Rue absolutely loves meeting new people. She thrives on getting attention. She can get a bit excited at first, but calms down after a few minutes. I have had dinner parties at my house with up to 20 guests and she is very well behaved.

Loves:
Rue loves attention and being pet. She loves to snuggle up and relax next to me. She loves chewing on her bones and basking in the sun on my balcony. Rue also loves car rides.

Dislikes:
Rue dislikes crates, she will not stay in a crate if I leave the house and will always find a way out. She very much dislikes loud beeping noises such as the smoke detector.

Things to Work on:
Rue has gotten much better at not pulling so hard on the leash but she can use some work on that. She needs a bit more training to not jump on people to greet them. She can use some more training to avoid getting food off the counter or garbage can when I am not home. These things only happen when I am not home. She never will do it while I am home.

Karma is looking for a retirement home where she can be the center of attention. She is 50 pounds of love! Despite being a senior (she’s 10) she has a puppy’s heart and the soul of a professional snuggler. She’s currently in Long Beach.

Why You’ll Love Her:

💜Social & Friendly: Great with other dogs and has lived with a cat (though will chase cats she’s unfamiliar with!)

❤️Ultimate Cuddler: Her favorite place is right by your side.

💛Smart & Playful: She knows her basic commands and still loves a good game.

🧡Gentle Soul: A "velvet hippo" who wouldn’t hurt a fly.

Her Ideal Home

🌸Families with Kids 5+: Karma is a wiggly bundle of excitement and sometimes forgets her own strength, so older children are best.

🎈Solo Dining: She prefers to eat in a separate area from other pets (she has some resource guarding behavior around food).

💥A Vocal Queen: She isn't afraid to bark to let you know what she’s thinking!

If you’re looking for a resilient, affectionate senior to complete your family, Karma is your girl. Interested? Contact Eddie at [email protected].

340 DAYS! That’s how long Bernie has been at the shelter 😭

💜Long Beach, WA: www.beachpets.com💜

BERNIE HAS BEEN AT THE SHELTER FOR 340 DAYS. This is too long!! Bernie has been waiting. And waiting. And waiting some more. This beautiful 4 year old Mastiff mix is the longest-stay resident, and honestly, it’s hard to understand why. Bernie is a 100-pound bundle of love, resilience, and quiet devotion who is more than ready to trade her kennel for a couch.

Bernie is shy at first, but give her a little time and trust, and she will absolutely melt into you. Once you’re “her person,” she’s all in: loyal, affectionate, and happiest with her big, beautiful head resting on you. Truly, it’s one of life’s simple joys.

She’s strong, smart, and does best with someone who can offer structure, consistency, and lots of love. Bernie appreciates a confident, calm human who will help her shine and show her the world isn’t so scary. In return, she offers deep companionship and a heart full of devotion.

Bernie would love to be your one and only, she needs to be the only pet in the home
After close to a year in the shelter, Bernie is tired. Not tired of loving but tired of waiting. She’s proven how resilient she is, but what she really needs now is a home.

❤️ Bernie is ready.
🧡 Ready to love.
💛 Ready to belong.
💜 Ready to go home.

All that’s missing is someone saying yes. Apply for gorgeous Bernie at www.beachpets.com

Breed: Pitbull, Aussie, Lab (DNA tested)
Neutered male
3yrs old
UTD on vaccines
✅ gets along with dogs
✅ gets along with cats
✅ crate trained
✅ house trained

Hi, I’m Frankie!
I’m a 3 year old male pit bull/Lab mix with a big heart (and a big, sometimes clumsy body to match). I get along great with other dogs and even cats!

My kennel is my safe place, especially if I get startled by sudden loud noises. When I need a little reset or get overstimulated, that's where you should tell me to go. I already know several basic commands and I’m a quick learner, especially when treats are involved!

I’m currently working on improving my leash manners and getting comfortable with a muzzle, and I’m making great progress. I need patience and kindness. I do well out in public and would love to be your sidekick on all your adventures. Whether it’s exploring the outdoors, playing at the park, or just hanging out at home, I’m happy as long as I’m with you.

I love toys (especially the kind I can “de-stuff”), enjoy mental stimulation, and I’m always up for a cozy snuggle on the couch. I’m fully house-trained and respectful in the home. I don’t potty inside or chew on things I shouldn’t.

Since I’m kennel trained, I can comfortably be left alone for 6-8 hours during the day. I’m neutered, healthy, and have no known allergies.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a playful side, I might just be your guy 🐾

Reason for Surrender/Rehoming? We found him on our property we have 4 dogs cannot keep a 5th

Where did you originally get/find this dog? Found on street

Personality: velcro dog loves to cuddle low energy

Meeting New People: shy, prefers slow introductions.

Loves: Chewing on Nylabones, wrestling with dog friends, tuggies, water, outdoors

🚨🚨🚨 ENZO NEEDS YOUR HELP! Foster or adopter needed as soon as possible! Please share.

✅ Great with other dogs- loves to play!
✅ Loves all people! (Children over 12 please- for no other reason than he’s rambunctious, energetic and may knock a younger child over)

Most dogs do not do well in the shelter environment but if you have a husky, then you know that huskies are among those that can struggle the most. Kennel stress is an emotional response to the unnatural shelter environment and our shelter can, and will, euthanize for behaviors resulting from kennel stress.

Enzo is a 2 year old, 72lb, energetic husky and has been stuck in a kennel for 23.5 hours a day for the last 30 days. Enzo can get “mouthy” with leashes and sleeves when he has too much energy, so it’s important he finds his way out of the shelter sooner than later.

Enzo is very social with other dogs and people. He will also need regular exercise. He has never met a stranger- everyone is a friend. He is a bundle of energy, but once he burns up his energy, he will lean in for pets and soak up all the affection he can get.

If you would like to foster for the shelter, please sign up here and call to let them know ASAP. Please, do not wait.

Multnomah County Animal Services can not keep up with the amount of dogs that come in as strays. There is simply not enough kennel space. They need fosters! Please click the link to apply to be a foster and save lives!

🥳🥳 ADOPTED!!

Moose Needs You! Almost 2 YEARS in Foster & Running Out of Time

Moose has been in his foster home for nearly TWO YEARS, far longer than anyone ever expected. His foster family has been absolutely amazing, but they need to return him by April 3rd. We cannot let this sweet senior boy go back to the shelter. Can you be the one to step up and give Moose the home he deserves? This boy does not need much, just a safe and comfortable place to land.

About Moose:
Age: 9½ years old
Weight: 80 lbs
Health: Has allergies and takes Apoquel
House Manners: Free roams beautifully when left alone, no barking, no separation anxiety

His Personality:
Moose is a total lovebug. He adores people and is incredibly affectionate. He lives with two children and is gentle, sweet, and devoted to them. He does great meeting strangers and truly loves everyone he meets.

His favorite things:
🐾 Walks
🐾 Hugs
🐾 Tug of war with his rope
🐾 Snuggles on the couch
🐾 Being pet (he will happily soak up all the love!)

Other Dogs:
Moose can be unsure around other dogs. His fosters have mostly kept him separate, though he has had some positive interactions. He may do well with the right dog given slow, structured introductions and multiple meet-and-greets. He would also likely thrive as the only dog, soaking up all the attention.

Why He’s Being Returned:
This decision has nothing to do with Moose. His foster family has a young and increasingly busy household with two children. They never anticipated fostering for two years and feel they can’t give him the time he deserves moving forward.
They love him deeply and that’s why we’re urgently searching for his next chapter instead of letting him return to a shelter environment.

Moose is a sweet, steady, affectionate older gentleman who just wants love, routine, and a soft place to land. After nearly two years in a home, going back to a kennel would be incredibly hard on him. Please consider opening your heart and home to this deserving boy. You can apply for Moose at www.beachpets.com/adopt
