🐟 Green Chromis is sold as one species, but since September 2026 some of those fish belong to another one.

Chromis veneta was split off this year; it has a slimmer body, a deeply forked tail with long tips and yellowish to orange fin edges, and it lives on the same reefs as the true Green Chromis.

🐟 In the wild the Neon Goby lives on the parasites it picks off other fish, yet it is no substitute for parasite treatment in a sick aquarium.

In a study on a close relative, 93% of cleaner gobies caught in the morning had parasites in their gut. Captive-bred fish in the trade already accept frozen foods and never need a client.
