Hello everyone! Hopefully you are all having a successful summer! I'm sending out a save the date for our annual meeting and BBQ on August 3rd at noon in powell at Jerry Protsman's house 1258 road 9 powell, wy 82435. We will have a BBQ along with an annual meeting, then have a forge-in afterward for those who would like to stay and forge some. We will have a station or 2 setup, but a rig or station of your own is recommended. We are open to suggestions on what to forge, so let's hear what you all would like to do or see! We are also collecting dues at the meeting, or you can mail them in beforehand to James Cushman at 1465 Val Vista st Sheridan ,wy 82801. They will be $150. There will also be the injured farrier fund sign up. If you'd like to be part of that, it is $150 as well. We will also be holding nominations for new officers if anyone wants to hold a position. We hope to see everyone there and happy shoeing! Please send a message if your planning to attend so we can get a head count for food! Families are welcome to join!

Kelly Liptrot CJF

Kelly passed his journeyman in 2013 and became a tester in 2014. In late 2024 he became an examiner. He works on mostly hunter jumpers and dressage horses. He also works on some therapeutic cases for the local vets in Utah where he lives.

Examiners are set for the 2025 WPFA Certification.

Brian Strelow, BS, CJF, TE, FE, EE
Brian Strelow is a native Washingtonian who lives on Whidbey Island with his wife Nicole and their two kids. Brian is an active member of the AFA and the local chapter FAWS. In 2001 he became an AFA Certified Journeyman Farrier and has been a fixture of the AFA certification program for many years as a tester and now as an instructor and examiner. Brian has shod a variety of disciplines over nearly 30 years under horses. Currently dressage, jumping and barrel racing horses take up the majority of his time.

There will be a chapter president's meeting with the regional director of the AFA this next Wednesday. They want to hear from our members about ideas or concerns you might have as far as AFA events and certification. If you would like to voice anything please contact me at the number below and I will take it forward to the meeting.
