Are you aware that Michigan typically experiences an increase in flea and tick activity from April to November, with the possibility of year-round activity due to unseasonably warm winter days, and health officials have reported a significant rise in blacklegged tick populations and Lyme disease cases, especially in southeastern Michigan, as a result of the warmer and wetter early-year weather patterns? Just this week, I have removed ticks from a few dogs, so please ensure you provide preventive care for pets to keep them comfortable during the nicest part of the year, year round preventive is even a good idea!
