Hello everyone,
We are looking for anyone or any businesses that would like to join us in helping thank & honor our Grant County First Responders with their annual banquet. We had an amazing response from everyone last year when we hosted the appreciation dinner. Thank you to everyone who donated then & we hope you can participate again this year. Your donations helped everyone have a great night & our first responders left knowing that all of their hard work & sacrifices are greatly appreciated by the community.❤️

If you or your company, church, class, organization would like to donate a door prize or make a monetary donation towards the meal please contact us today.

We are looking for businesses and/or individuals that would like to help us in showing our appreciation for & honoring our Grant County First Responders this year!

This event is their annual awards banquet which also helps fund The Everette Watson Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student in the county.

All donations are greatly appreciated! We are looking for door prizes (this can be from local businesses & individuals), monetary donations to go towards the cost of their meal and/or sampling donations from local restaurants.

When April Kuhn Hawley got her Zebu’s I told her if she ever let them go to give me a call 🤣 well she did. We will geld Pedro because we have plenty of bulls around here but we are excited to have him❤️ so everyone welcome Pedro to the ranch! He will be participating in pictures in the pasture & many shenanigans in the pasture soon. Now I gotta get some ladies for all these guys🤦‍♀️

Elvis & Stella have had a boy🖤 All is well, he’s healthy & happy. He will not be participating in fall photos for pictures in the pasture as we don’t want to over stress him or Stella. Elvis is being a great dad & if we let him he’d likely stay in the turnout with them.

We are beyond blessed with the best tribe of friends who are family❤️ Last night’s First Responder Appreciation Dinner was truly wonderful! Thank you doesn’t seem sufficient to describe how grateful we are for everything everyone did to make the night a success! We are so lucky to have people in our life who jump in & volunteer their time & talents. A special thank you to Marilyn Hudspeth DeMoss, Charlotte Melton, Casey Lee Landers, Gayla Reynolds who wasn’t able to come but with us in our ❤️, The whole Reynold’s Family, Doug Reynolds Suzuki who surprised us with a mini dirt bike donation for a door prize! Tristin Taylor, Brock Taylor, Riley Spann & Hadley, Annette Barnhill Shankles, Paul Shankles, Jr Haggard, Denise Haggard, Tiffany Scruggs, Amanda Treadway, John David Treadway & family, Steven Ray Prichard, Crystal Lewis Prichard & Carley Roach, Brian, Dixie & Derek. We hope everyone had a great night, there were definitely a lot of laughs & the Buzzard Bull Rental mechanical Bull was a big hit! We have had a great response for our first responders event & thank you to everyone who has already contacted us to sponsor. There’s still time if you haven’t & would like to.
We are still looking for any local restaurants who would like to set up & donate a sampling for the evening. Any businesses that would like to donate anything for door prizes throughout the evening please let us know. We can arrange pick up if needed. There are so many who give so much everyday! We just want to take an evening to say thank you! Help us make their night a fun filled evening!

The final results. Thank you to everyone who participated & stuck it out these very long 8 weeks🤪We can’t thank everyone enough who has helped along the way! Jennifer Kendrick Godfrey your help, knowledge & willingness to assist is so greatly appreciated! We are so blessed with everything you offer to this sport! Our entry team & all the hats y’all all wore Michael Thornberry, Michelle Staggs & John Brown ❤️ Our tractor drivers, ground preppers Lane Smith, Pevine, Jarrod at Hestand & Derek excellent job, y’all make the races! Ashley Bethea thank you for running all over central AR for the longest 8 weeks ever!
All of our sponsors you are the best! We will get your banners, wraps to you asap. There are many others along the way with concession help, those picking up my slack through surgery & recovery, all the barrel & pole assistance. Putting on a race is hard & a lot of work. A series is so much harder & such a team effort! To the riders & horses congratulations to everyone who has raced, won and or learned. This was the hardest, longest series ever, anything that could become an obstacle did again & again. Weather was a huge problem, schedule changes, lots of delays even trying to get through these last 2 weeks for the last race was hard. We all got sick, Derek’s mom’s unexpected passing & I spent Tuesday in the ER until midnight with unexpected complications at the worst possible time for us. We hope everyone understands we did the best we could to put on fun races for all with all the challenges we faced along the way. We know not everyone agrees with everything & that’s ok. That’s why there’s lots of races & lots of options on where to go run. Everyone wants to win but this is also supposed to be fun. Rest assured we will not fight the weather again over a series in any season. Life is busy for everyone, this is all done by volunteers & we don’t want another “series” in our unpredictable AR weather dragging on anyone’s schedules like this one has again.

We want to thank everyone who’s called, messaged, texted during this time of loss in our family. Arrangements are posted Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for Derek’s mom, Sarah Brownlee. The family is waiting for as many who can come in form out of town, arrange work schedules, etc…all the things. We will be in to be in the waiting period until the funeral on 7/3. We know it’s summer, there are people out of town, there’s the WR exhibitions today, race Sat/Sun, attendance is down everywhere but if you can make it to ElPaso tonight come join the fun with great ground by Lane Smith!
