Schaefer’s Doxies We are a small local breeder in Shepherd, MT. We have a litter or 2 of mini dachshunds each year.

I love the way people react to my pups. My pups mean the world to me so I look hard at potential owners. It takes a lot of work and time. This was the largest litter and totally exhausting to care for but we manage. The pups come before everything else. I have two mom to be doxies. I’m thinking I will quit after this. So if you are looking to a future pup, you have 2 chances left. Thank you to those who adopted and those who didn’t you have no idea how it does my heart so much good. Dachshunds are a wonderful breed. A companion for life. Thank you all!!

Pups were born April 20th so they will be ready to go home in 3 weeks June 15th. They will be 8 weeks old had the vet visit and vacinations. They will need to have 2 more visits for vacinations. If you have a favorite veterinary make your appointments. I will send with you their vet paperwork, food, and some goodies to get you started. I recommend getting a crate and prepare for a couple of rough night. They will be scared and missing their littermates. Lastly I’m here if you need advice! Thank you!

I like to know who is adopting. If you are familiar with the breed. And understanding this is a lifetime commitment.
I have a rule - call if you have a problem. Most important you can surrender them to me at anytime. I don’t want them ending up in a shelter. A deposit holds them.

We have just had a litter of 5 babies! Their momma is doing great and is an excellent mother. Dad is very attentive and keeps an eye on things. As they grow and mature my goal is to get them started on potty training and keep them aquatinted with people and dogs. When they are ready I feed a high quality puppy food to maintain their health and wellbeing. Before they leave us they will have a vet visit and first vaccinations. For more info please PM.
