Sylvan Pet Lodge is searching for kennel attendants to oversee the well-being of the animals in our care. Our kennel attendant's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, sanitizing kennels, exercising dogs, picking up f***s, feeding animals, filling water bowls, laundry, washing dishes, monitoring pet’s health and behavior, etc.
Candidates must also be comfortable & willing to be trained to work in other departments such as office reception. We are a small, well-established business that requires knowledge in all departments.
To ensure success as a kennel attendant, you should be able to anticipate and tend to the needs of animals.
Kennel Attendant Responsibilities:
• Setting up a sanitized, clean kennel with clean bedding, clean bowls and fresh water.
• Escorting animals to their designated kennels as they are checked-in for overnight boarding & daycare.
• Ensuring that the animals have ample, fresh water at all times throughout the day.
• Feeding dogs and monitoring food consumption
• Cleaning animal waste, spilled food, hair, and other debris from the kennels.
• Disposing of trash
• Escorting dogs to and from their kennels to exercise in the play yard
• Calming animals who are in distress (Taking time to gain pets trust if they are fearful)
• Reporting significant changes in health (Vomit, Diarrhea, Wounds etc.)
Kennel Attendant Requirements:
• Previous experience caring for animals strongly encouraged.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work in tandem as a team and help out fellow co-workers when needed
• Great time management skills with ability to prioritize on a scheduled daily routine
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and agile.
• Capacity to lift up to 60 pounds unaided.
• A passion for animal welfare.
• All employees expected to work weekends and holidays
Hourly Positions available at minimum wage
