What you need to know about gooseneck hitches for cab & chassis and semi-trucks.
Gooseneck hitches with 30,000 GVW and 45,000 GVW for cab & chassis pickups, cab & chassis trucks and semi-tractors.
Frame width for cab & chassis pickups 250,350,450,550, cab & chassis trucks and semi-tractors all are 34-inches wide (a few semi-tractors in the 1980's were made with 33-inch frames and require using ¼” spacers or washers on each side). Cab & chassis are a frame of their own and are not to be confused with a standard pickup frame that uses a standard pickup bed.
Cab & chassis, mount over the outside of the frame and set 2-1/2 inches above the frame, 10 inches wide on top and 4 inches down the outside of the truck frame. They mount with three ¾ inch grade 5 bolts on each side with the bolts and nuts included. The 2-5/16-inch standard gooseneck ball is released by turning a handle 90 degrees, and the ball can be turned over for storage or removed for a different size ball or accessory. The Hitches & Couples Inc, part numbers are 205ST30K-T and 205ST45K-T.
Semi tractors & class 6, 7, 8 & 9 trucks the hitch mounts over the truck frame, you need 2-inches clearance below the top of the frame at the rear axle between the frame. 10-inches wide on top and 4 inches down the outside of the truck frame. They mount with three ¾ inch grade 5 bolts on each side with the bolts and nuts included. They can be mounted behind your 5th wheel hitch, with the ball turned over or removed allow the use of the 5th wheel hitch. Part numbers are 205ST30K and 205ST45K.
Other gooseneck ball options are available such as a 3-inch gooseneck ball (part number FL1005-3), 2-5/16-inch heat-treated stainless-steel ball with a 45,000 GVW rating, and other special height balls or an inverted 5th wheel kingpin and can be found under Flip-Over Accessories. The gooseneck ball is round and rotates in its socket which keeps the socket clean and can save ball life if you have a coupler that is of poor quality or is rough which a lot of them are. The ball is locked in the one-piece machined steel socket with a stainless-steel spring and locking pin. Simply rotate the handle to retract the pin, pull the ball out and store it inverted out of the way in the socket or remove it for another accessory.

Self-Latching Gooseneck Trailer Coupler

These are replacement 2-5/16” Gooseneck trailer coupler and stem or coupler only, the coupler self-latches and releases remotely with a cable that can be conveniently located near your trailer jack handle. The couplers have a molded hitching guide for easy coupling. The couplers are precision cast of Chrome Vanadium Steel with a Stainless-steel latching pin and a stainless-steel spring.
These couplers are low profile couplers for additional adjustment and more under the gooseneck ball clearance, and the stems are fabricated using extra heavy wall high strength tubing for maximum strength, not pipe and especially not standard wall pipe as other manufacturers use. The gooseneck trailer coupler stems are available for all three standard stems, 4-inch round, 4-1/2-inch square and the 4-inch square.

Tow your 5th wheel RV with a gooseneck hitch, by replacing your kingpin box with a kingpin box for a gooseneck hitch.

The RVGC Gooseneck Trailer Coupler allows you to pull your 5th wheel RV camper using a Gooseneck Hitch Ball without having to bolt on an adapter. It is a one piece product that bolts onto the existing bolt holes where the 5th wheel king pin box is mounted. Kingpin boxes give 4 inches of vertical adjustment by the trailer coupler. Most 5th wheel trailer manufacturers have adjustable hole patterns to allow you an extra 3″ of adjustment, which makes the total about 7″ of adjustment.
