🚨 Recommendation 🧺

If you travel to south Indianapolis / Shelbyville / Boggstown area ; I highly recommend this laundry mat in Shelbyville! Super clean, pretty new machines, well priced and friendly!
+++ look at this MASSIVE 14 load washing machine with soap and everything provided.
I am going to skip a few weeks of laundry just so I can try it 😂

So much yum. The best part of traveling is finding new restaurants to try. I loved every bite here.

They are loving this life and that’s all that matters to me.
They keep me going.
Caesar is doing really well in his treatment with Blasto. I am so proud of him!

Fingers crossed we get the call for one of the campgrounds we are on a waiting list. I really need some trees. Not a fan of parking lots being considered campgrounds but also grateful. Looking forward to future.

Review for my official first stop in camper living…

Holiday Acres of Garden Prairie, IL was absolutely amazing! I don’t have much experience in RV campground’s but I am very grateful my first was here.

This campground is enormous and definitely the perfect spot for those who love wildlife and nature as it has many gorgeous mature trees, Kishwaukee River along it, and at night you can hear the wildlife sing.

There is an awesome restaurant on the premises open to public with great food; Miles Bar & Grill.

The owners and staff are fantastic, friendly and accomodating. This was very helpful and soothing as this was my first experience in camper living.

🧻🧺 Large spots, 2 bathhouses, 2 laundry facilities. Not many full hookup sites due to River location. They pump the tanks for small fee

🛒🍔🍳 Less than 10 minutes away from Garden Prairie Cafe (one of my fave breakfast spots) and Walmart/Walgreens/Restaurants.

🐕🐈🐶 Pet friendly and temp fences allowed

Seasonal sites available (you can even build your own decks/sheds)

Non seasonal goes through mid October for the season. At times they may do winter but very limited spots and it really just depends on that year.

Different prices depending on section you stay. I was monthly and farthest area so I paid about $700 plus $80 for electric ⚡️ flat fee and $80 for weekly pump outs. 2025 pricing.

It’s 5 am and we are STILL on the road (since noon yesterday!)
One day it will all be laughter.
My first traveling experience with the camper and dogs has definitely been a lot of frustration and learning.
Grateful it will never be this bad in the future because I will be better prepared after the chaos of this day!

Bye Illinois and hello Indiana (ok, right now technically in Michigan, but then we’ll be in Indiana)

Grateful for the help and company of my dogs and friend James!

More info to follow after I catch an entire day of sleep 😴

This path is tough & emotional as I navigate this new way of living. It does get better, but there is always something new to learn and overcome.
My dogs are happy though! We hit the road in 5 days!!! 😬😬

Old video - I was wrong!! After waiting over nearly 3 hours, I gave up and drove very slowly off the overpass onto a wider shoulder and by then a friend came to put my spare on. It was scary! I called Roadside 2 times and explained I was in a bad spot and numerous cars were very close to hitting me due to my location for traffic entering highway, no show and the state police were called. tsk tsk.
