UPDATE: Demi is MICROCHIPPED and belongs to Brittney Pair of Virginia. Neither numbers on the chip work. If you know Brittney, please let her know we have Demi!

This female stray was picked up by Officer Wood over the weekend in the 7000 block of W Shelby 500 S. The area is a Franklin address but in Shelby County. If you recognize this dog, please call 317-392-5127 or email [email protected]/ [email protected]

‼️STRAY ALERT‼️

Officer Jordan picked up these 3 beagles (1 male and 2 females) in the 8000 block of N Morristown Road. They are not microchipped or wearing collars with tags. They are all very sweet and wet from the rain. Thank you to the gentleman that immediately contained them and called us. He stated they were travelling together and would not leave each other's side. We presume they were dumped but we really hope not. For now, they are warm, safe, and fed. Thank you!

🐾 Meet Jackson 🐾

Jackson is a 5 year old male Shepherd Mix. He went to Vet Tech- meaning he is fixed, microchipped, fully vetted, and his adoption is free!

Jackson was relinquished to the shelter by his owners back in September 2024- meaning he has been here approximately 6 months. His owners stated he wasn't getting along with their other dog- which we later learned was a new puppy. At 5 years old- Jackson was likely confused! Being brought to the shelter had to leave him feeling pushed aside and abandoned.

Jackson did not have any issues with any other dogs during his time at Vet Tech, but we do still require a meet and greet if you already have another dog!

Jackson is great on a leash and loves to play! He is excited to get a chance at a forever home, and hopes he will meet his family soon 🩶

💕 Meet Poppet 💕

Poppet is a 5 year old female hound mix. She went to Vet Tech- meaning she is fixed, microchipped, fully vetted, and her adoption is free!

Poppet was picked up as a stray in the Morristown area, so we don't know much about her history. She was brought in approximately 5 months ago. She loves to be taken out to the outdoor fenced areas to play, and loves lots of pets! She is great on a leash, easy going, and will adjust to about anything! She has done well here, and did well at Vet Tech.

Poppet is the LAST female dog at the shelter right now! Those rambunctious boys have her ready to find a home where she can receive lots of love and belly rubs 😊

UPDATE: FOSTER PLACEMENT FOUND!! THANK YOU!

‼️FOSTER NEEDED‼️

This sweet Mama and her 7 newborns were picked up in the 800 block of W Franklin Street in Shelbyville, IN. We'd like to get her out of here and into a home to raise her babies. We are told Mama is a neighborhood stray that has had multiple litters. Those days are over for her. After her babies are weaned, they will need loving homes and so will Mama!
For now, we are hoping to find a foster for them. If you are able or interested, please call us @ 317-392-5127 OR email us anytime @cityofshelbyvillein.com / @cityofshelbyvillein.com
We will provide food, litter, training pads, etc.
