So much to update on! Kassie & I learned so much over the last four days. Odin too! We are so thankful for all the advice, guidance, and support we have received! I will update with some photos and what not soon. Right now, I am working on putting my house back in order!!! :)

Before you purchase a Dachshund, please research the breed! Yes, they are adorable, loyal, funny, and great companions.....but.....they bark A LOT, all day, at everything, at nothing. They are stubborn. They are very food-motivated. They are agile like cats, and you can find them one day on top of your entertainment center, where you thought your sandwich would be safe for five minutes. They are hard to house break, you will forever be finding p**p in your home in random places, especially after letting them outside. They will refuse to potty outside if its raining, or too cold. God forbid if the wind is too much. They need to be with you everywhere, all the time. If you close the bathroom door, they will be right there when you open it. They will walk slowly in front of you, run right across your feet while you are walking or even in between them. You will trip, you might fall, and you will say four-letter sentence-enhancing words.....very loudly. You will find that soon, after having one, you will need another, and then another...and then pretty soon you need to move to a bigger house. The Dachshund Addiction is real. Be Prepared.

Our Story

Located in Northwest Montana in the Stillwater National Forest we our main focus is Mini Lops in the tri color variety & Harlequins in the Magpie variety. We are also currently working with Netherland Dwarfs in the shaded variety. We did work with Mini Rex and Lionheads, but recently sold those projects out to make more room for the three breeds we currently have.

Previously our rabbitry was named Glacier Mini Lops (& Harlequins), however, we encountered some name issues after a few years as other Montana rabbitrys used Glacier in their name. So to avoid further confussion, we changed our name to Bailey’s Heavy Metal Bunnies. Our Prefix changes from GML (for Mini Lops) and Glacier’s (for Harlequins) to BHMB for every breed.

A fun fact about our rabbits, each one is named after a Band, Album, Song or Lyric. So if you like music, check it out!

Our pricing does not reflect the quality of the animal or the amount I have invested in my stock over the years. My prices are set to ensure that QUALITY animals are affordable. No Rabbit will ever be priced over $100. Most Juniors start out at a base price of $25. My favorites will probably be priced a bit higher (because then if no one buys them, I have a good excuse to keep them. Hahaha) Besides, can a person really guarantee how a junior will develop over time? I have spent $250 on a Jr that I was never able to get a litter out of, that never won a leg on the table. Money wasted.
