Wag n Tails Wag n Tails has helped dogs and their people since 1999 with expert training and grooming. Train with us. Grow with us. Wag with us.
(236)

We also provide apprenticeship opportunities for retirees, pet lovers, and advocates. We practice what we teach since 1999! THE VISION

To redefine pet ownership using mindfulness, education, and community so that every dog can get the love, attention, and support it needs while enabling a relationship in which dogs and humans can learn from each other. THE MISSION

Using education and fun to help

pet parents strengthen their bond with their dogs while creating a calmer and more peaceful home environment. Wag is an education center teaching dogs, their people, future Instructors, and Pro Groomers. We use only science-based methods of learning proven effective by leading veterinary behaviorists, ethologists, researchers, behaviorists, and well-respected trainers from around the world. The mentors we regularly learn from are leaders in our industry and are members of the associations we are proud members of. We teach you what the latest research has to offer with absolutely no force or electronic devices. Wag n Tails follows a humane hierarchy and we do not use force to teach. Wag n Tails proudly follows the LIMA approach. Least intrusive, minimally aversive. Our experienced consultants offer consults prior to your training plan in your home and instructors provide a variety of tailored group classes and seminars if you are local to us. For our nationwide followers, we provide remote learning and online courses allowing us to make a difference in the lives and homes of even more fellow dog lovers! Our main location is in Shelby Township, Michigan. We service both Oakland and Macomb Counties with our home services and our satellite training centers. We also help people nationwide with our online courses and virtual lessons. Check us out on the website to learn more or to schedule a free 15 minute strategy session with owner and founder, Christine!

Janae began her grooming career as a bather and quickly fell in love with the creativity, the process, and the amazing animals she worked with. Eighteen years later, grooming is still her passion. She’s excited to bring her experience to a team that values quality care and a positive, supportive atmosphere.

She specializes in grooming both dogs and cats—and has even trimmed bunnies. Janae loves adding artistic touches that make each pet’s personality shine.

At home, she cares for four cats—Charlie, Simba, Dennis, and Tippy—and previously fostered dogs. She hopes to welcome a big dog into the family again someday.

Outside of grooming, Janae enjoys sewing, cooking, baking, crafting, hunting, fishing, camping, and cheering on the Lions. She’s also the proud mom of five girls, including adult daughters working in trucking, Ford, project management, and catering—and a spirited 7-year-old who keeps her on her toes. Janae has been happily married for nearly 15 years, and her family remains at the center of everything she does.

Early experiences shape your puppy’s brain.

Thoughtful socialization—safe exposure to people, places, sounds, and other animals—builds resilience and reduces fear later in life.

With our professional dog training team by your side we can set you up with a simple plan and a pocket full of treats, and you’re on your way to help your puppy grow into a curious, calm companion.

On this Thanksgiving, our hearts are full. 🧡

To our incredible clients, thank you for trusting us with your pups.

To our friends and families, thank you for cheering us on.

And to every dog who walks through our doors—thank you for reminding us daily that joy, hope, and healing often come on four paws. 🐾

Wishing you and your pups a peaceful, love-filled Thanksgiving.

With gratitude,

Morgan was inspired to become a Level 1 Dog Bather through her lifelong passion for animals. After spending more than twenty years in the corporate world, she is grateful to now be doing something she truly loves.

Being part of a positive team that shares her passion for dogs has been a refreshing and meaningful change, and she brings enthusiasm, compassion, and gentle care to every pup she works with.

Outside of work, Morgan enjoys yoga and running, and she’s an avid gardener with nearly 200 houseplants filling her home. Her love for animals extends well beyond the studio—she shares her life with two rescue dogs, Wally and Penny (Wally named after her grandfather, Wallace Wayne), a skinny pig named Hilda, a rabbit named Honey, and a hamster named Yoshi.

Morgan lives with her boyfriend, Dan, and his daughter, Brielle, who also shares her passion for animals. She’s excited to pass along the knowledge she gains and enjoys being part of a family that appreciates and learns from all kinds of pets together.

Welcome Morgan! We are SO excited to have you join our team!

Our Story

At Wag ‘N’ Tails Dog Activity Center - education comes first at both of our locations in Shelby Township, Michigan. We appreciate that you are a parent to your dog. Our clients are pet parents - not dog owners. We know how much your dog means to you! That’s one of the reasons why education comes first for us.

As pet parents ourselves, we know that choosing a trustworthy care provider and/or a care facility is an important decision. We appreciate that price and location is certainly a consideration among many.

Contact us today! We look forward to explaining what is uniquely included in our standard service. We hope you agree there is much to consider when finding a caring place where your pet will be healthy and happy. Our highly skilled pack leaders on the phones are ready to take your call and help get you started with the best program for your needs. We are a school, not a “doggie daycare.” There’s a difference!

Education: Staff training and experience.
