Field trip with Nelly and Wilma at Dodge Park!

Passed bikers, joggers, rollerbladers, other dogs and some wildlife including a deer.

The girls did so great!
Their biggest struggle was passing small, barking dogs- so we will be focusing on this the duration of their program 🙂.

Morning pack walk with the structured boarding dogs!

Structured boarding includes daily walks, playtime in the yard, trail walks and bike rides. Outdoor freedom and fun for all!

Lets give a big round of applause to our recent KBDT graduates 👏🏼🎊.

Timmy, Oakley, Betty, Luna and Peppa!

Timmy spent 4 weeks building confidence in himself and able to tackle being in new environments through guidance from his parents.
Oakley came for a refresh to slow things down in her brain. Finding that calm muscle 😉. She was also here to mend her relationship with her brother, Timmy as they had got into a couple scuffles in the house.
Betty accomplished so much during her stay! She is leaning into this whole new balanced relationship with her family! She loves that structure leads to freedom 💪🏼.
Luna was also here for all things confidence building. She settled into herself so well during her program- huge improvement in her confidence on outings and loose leash walks.
Peppa is officially adopted!! Thankful she is staying in our family- Connor will get to see Peppa regularly at Grandma and Papa’s house.

Yes- you do have to teach them. For most dogs, once they understand how to enter and exit the pool- there is no limit on fun 👏🏻

Perfect cloudy day for some place time outside-
While the humans finish some yard work!

Perks-
▪️Keeps the dogs out of the way of the wheelbarrow, shovels or dirt.
▪️Keeps them out of trouble- digging in the yard, barking at the fence, chewing and eating grass or wood chips
▪️Practices our calm mindset in a new environment

Congrats to all of our recent graduates 👏🏻.

Jax, Odin, Octavia and Maverick are officially home with their families and practicing everything they learned during their 3 week programs!

All different breeds, temperaments, personality’s and yet- their training programs all looked so similar. Each customized to the dog, with the same expectations and routines.

As always, we are here for support!
Whether it’s to celebrate a big win, or to guide you through a hard moment or day. Training doesn’t stop after a board and train program and neither does our guidance. ✌🏻

Odin, Jax and Maverick 🌟

Odin is a year old Dutch Shepherd, Belgian Malinois, Staffordshire Terrior mix. He grew up in a foster home, was adopted and returned and then adopted again. He received an evaluation from a local force free trainer that actually recommended behavioral euthanasia. He is here to work on his biting/mouthiness, over arousal, reactivity in the home, crate manners, and learn how to be a polite, enjoyable member of his family. We have all the confidence that we can help get him on the right path to success!

Jax is a 10 month old German Shepherd here for all things manners! His Mom has done an awesome job with puppy classes and some group training class but felt like she wasn’t getting the desired results with his behaviors. He is a BIG boy and jumping, mouthing and biting, pulling on the leash, counter surfing, and stealing household items are not safe choices for him or his family members.

Maverick is a 2 year old Bernadoodle here for all things being the best boy! His family would love to be able to walk him on a loose leash, curb some of his anxious behaviors and whininess, and just live an overall bigger life with him! Giving him structure, boundaries and some lifestyle routines will actually give him MORE freedom 😉

We have one more training drop off on Sunday. This one is extra special to my heart as it’s one of our precious foster dogs who we fostered in 2020- stay tuned!

Cooperative care doesn’t come natural or easy for some dogs. Adding elements of communication and predictably like a clear beginning, middle and end, help the dog understand their involvement. Dogs nails can get so long that walking around can be physically painful- which can lead to unwanted behavior and or unpredictable irritability. Let’s keep em short!

Happy Saturday from our pack!

These dogs, and Connor have helped trained countless dogs. They are used in our training programs regularly and safely to help other dogs with dog socialization, neutrality, distraction work and simply existing in our routines with everyone. Connor especially helps with all things exposure to a wild and crazy 4 year old 😂- best distraction there is 🖤.
