Looking for a meaningful way to make a difference for animals in our community? 🐾❤️
The Humane Society of Sheboygan County is currently accepting applications for all volunteer opportunities, and we're especially hoping to fill a few key volunteer needs right now:
🐶 Dog Kennel Cleaning Volunteers
Help keep our dogs comfortable by cleaning kennels, replacing bedding and toys, sanitizing dishes, and maintaining outdoor kennel areas.
🕘 Shifts Needed:
• Daily: 8:30–10:30 AM
🧺 Shelter Upkeep Volunteers
Love organizing, cleaning, or tackling behind-the-scenes projects? Our shelter upkeep volunteers help keep the shelter running smoothly through laundry, housekeeping, grounds work, and facility support.
🕘 Shifts Needed:
• Wed–Fri: 1:00–3:00 PM & 3:00–5:00 PM
• Sat–Sun: 9:00–11:00 AM, 11:00 AM–1:00 PM & 1:00–3:00 PM
• Mon–Tues: 11:00 AM–1:00 PM & 1:00–3:00 PM
🐱 PetSmart Caregiver – Sheboygan Falls
We're looking for reliable volunteers who can commit to a consistent weekly shift helping care for adoptable cats at our Sheboygan Falls PetSmart Adoption Center.
🕘 Shifts Needed:
• Monday mornings: 9:00–11:00 AM
• Friday mornings: 9:00–11:00 AM
These approximately 2-hour shifts are scheduled further in advance than most in-shelter volunteer opportunities. If you're looking for a predictable, ongoing volunteer commitment each week, this could be the perfect fit! Volunteers provide daily care, enrichment, socialization, and help support the adoption process for cats waiting to find homes.
💡 How Do I Apply?
Visit our website and apply for the volunteer role you're most interested in. Once you've completed training, become established in your volunteer role, and meet any applicable requirements, you'll have opportunities to cross-train in additional volunteer positions.
👨👩👧 Youth Volunteers (Ages 13–15)
Youth volunteers must apply through the Youth Volunteer Application, regardless of which role interests them. The youth volunteer and parent/guardian complete one application together, attend training together, and volunteer together during all shifts.
❤️ These highlighted positions are simply where we're seeing the greatest need right now, but all volunteer applications are currently open. Every kennel cleaned, every load of laundry folded, and every hour volunteered helps save lives and supports animals in need.
