This announcement does not come easy for me as it has been an extremely hard decision for me and weighs very heavy on my heart. Today I am hanging up my clippers and scissors as this is my last day. The past 8 weeks have been most difficult as I have been saying my good byes to all my canine friends as they come through. I apologize for no warning to all the humans but it has been incredibly difficult and I have asked everyone within PMP to not share my leaving.
For years it has been medical advice to find another profession as the damage my body takes from grooming is not in my best interest. It is at this time I am taking that advice as it becomes more difficult to do this.
Due to my chemo treatments I have lost a lot of vision and have permanent neuropathy damage to my hands and feet. Of which means, I have lost a lot of feeling in my hands and struggle to hold things or not drop things. As you know I have sharp objects in my hands! Doctors had hoped the damage would lesson with time and to some degree has but it has cost me to not be able to groom in a timely fashion and take less and less dogs. Fact is I'm afraid I will injure a pet as my inability to feel or see continues to worsen.
Less than a year ago I had surgery on my left hand due to dog hair related issues and I now have to have surgery on my right hand for same problem.
I have so struggled with this decision but after 25 years of working with animals I am starting a new chapter in my life and trying something new.
Quit, fail, and disappoint is not in my vocabulary and yet I feel I am letting all of you down. I am so sorry.
I have done my best in the past couple months to document all specifics in pet files so the other girls know special things about each of the pets and they know I am only a phone call away. Please know that Bill and the girls will continue to meet the needs of your babies. Please be understanding when they do things in a different way as no two people groom the same. Bill and the girls know how precious my fury friends are to me and how hard it has been to say good bye. They will do their very best to make the transition as smooth as possible.
I want to thank everyone for the years of support and relationships I have gained and value beyond what anyone can imagine. PMP and all it's guests (the ones who have passed and the ones still with us) has truly been my extended family. As I walk out tonight I take with me the most priceless memories of so many special friends (and of course their humans). Every fury face that has came through these doors over the past years has made a difference in my life, a difference that has made this so difficult however, so worth it. I am so grateful to all of you and so sad to say goodbye.
I know there will be some of you that will be contacting me personally please understand this has been a rough 8 weeks for me and after this announcement I am absolutely emotionally exhausted. I will respond to everyone but it will most likely take me a few days.
Thank You Everyone So Much! I will miss all of you! It kills me to know I will never see my special friends again.....

Here's wishing everyone a Happey and Safe Thanksgiving!!! We will be closed Thursday and Friday to spend time with our families. We will reopen at 9am Saturday.
