We extend our deepest condolences to the North Huntingdon Police Department and to K-9 Sergeant Kari Bauer for the loss of a true hero and loyal partner. K9 Zargo served with unwavering courage, devotion, and heart — protecting his community and standing faithfully beside his fellow officers.
The bond between an officer and their K9 is one built on trust, loyalty, and unconditional love — a bond that time can never break. K9 Zargo’s dedication and service will never be forgotten, and his paw prints will remain forever on the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Rest easy, K9 Zargo. Job well done. 🐾💙

We are heartbroken to share the passing of K-9 Zargo.

Just days ago, Zargo completed a full evening of training—building search, apprehension, article search, and narcotics detection—with his usual dedication and strength.

After showing signs of illness, he was taken to the vet, where a large, inoperable tumor was discovered. Despite his condition, Zargo gave his all until the very end.

He was a beloved member of our community and a loyal partner. We are forever grateful for his service and spirit.

Please keep Sgt. Bauer and our department in your thoughts.

Nice job K9 Riggs!!

On the morning of 10-4-25, Stetson Hills patrol responded to the 2400 block on N. Union Blvd. for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a gunshot victim in the parking lot of a business. Officers were given a distinct description of the suspect’s vehicle, and this information was disseminated to all officers throughout the city. A short time later, officers in the Sand Creek Division located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and due to the nature of the crime, officers initiated a pursuit. Officers conducted a successful PIT maneuver in the 00 block of S. Roosevelt St., stopping the vehicle. The suspect refused to exit his vehicle and challenged officers to come get him. K9 arrived on scene to provide assistance. Canine Riggs was deployed and K9 warnings were given advising the suspect that he would be bit by a police canine if he did not comply. The suspect quickly showed that his hands were empty and surrendered to officers with no further incident.
