Can anyone explain why it is so hard to find adorable birds forever homes?! 😩
Ella & Stella the parakeets, and Tweety the canary have been in foster homes through our rescue since 2023!😳
I know there must be a bird lover out there who is willing and able to offer a forever home to these very deserving birds.
Please help Ella & Stella and Tweety by sharing this post and telling anyone and everyone to please consider adoption!

Rose (pictured first) and Thorn (pictured second) the bearded dragons have been waiting for a forever home for over a year! 😢
Typically bearded dragons get adopted pretty quickly because they are such great pets, and Rose and Thorn are no exception! They are both very friendly and have adorable personalities!
Thorn would make a great addition to any family! Rose will require a family with some previous bearded dragon care experience because while she is currently healthy, she has had some previous health concerns that need to be monitored.
I am not sure why Rose and Thorn have not had any interest or adoption applications submitted. While they have been loved and cared for with our foster family, it is sad that they have been waiting so long to find their forever families.

This Thursday is our Fantasy Trivia fundraiser at Hitchhiker Brewing!
This is our favorite way to raise money to support all of the exotic animals at our rescue! But we cannot do it without you!
At this time, Trivia is our only fundraising event. The money that we raise at these events is so incredibly important to helping all of the unwanted, neglected or abused exotic pets that are surrendered to our rescue.
Without support at fundraising events, our mission to help exotic pets would not be possible.
In recent months, there has been a very small number of supporters that attend our trivia night fundraisers. if you would like to support us, we are asking (and begging) that you come to trivia this month.
Come out for a fun night, bring your friends and in turn help animals in need!
Winners of each round win free draft beer and there's always Hitchhiker merchandise up for raffle.

Ella and Stella the parakeets have been waiting for a forever home since August of 2023 😢
While they are safe and happy in their foster home, they deserve a loving forever home just as much as any animal.
Parakeets can make wonderful pets for any family! They are much more low maintenance than most other bird species, but still provide companionship and entertainment for their owners.

Our Trivia fundraiser is back!
Calling all Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones fans... this one's for you!
Come to Hitchhiker Brewing on Thursday 2/20 at 7 pm for Fantasy Trivia!
This is our favorite way to raise money to support all of the exotic animals at our rescue! But we cannot do it without you!
If you've come to trivia in the past, then you know how fun it is. If you've been meaning to come but haven't made it yet, this is your chance!
Come out for a fun night, bring your friends (so that you can beat them and prove that you are the ultimate fan) and in turn help animals in need!

Meet Sticky Pete!
🐸
Sticky Pete, or Pete for short, is a juvenile Cuban Tree Frog. Unfortunately Pete snuck up to Pittsburgh in a plant shipment from Florida, and was then surrendered to us.
While Cuban Tree Frogs are invasive in Florida, they make great pets in captivity! They are relatively low maintenance, but they require high humidity and space to hop around and explore.
Like most frogs, Pete is a ferocious eater. He loves all bugs, but his favorites are black soldier fly larvae and small mealworms.
Pete would make a great pet for someone who's looking to start keeping amphibians!

Happy Holidays from all of us at Feathers, Scales, and Tails Pet Rescue!

While we do not necessarily encourage gifting live animals as pets for the holidays, all of our animals are searching for a forever home this holiday season!
Having a live animal is a commitment for the animals entire life and whenever an animal is gifted, the new owner may not have the proper skills or knowledge to give the animal a happy and healthy life.
However, here at FST, we make sure that all adopters have a proper enclosure and are knowledgeable on how to take care of the animal before we send them home.

Hello again from Tweety the Canary!🐤

Tweety was surrendered to us shortly before our storefront closed in October 2023, and she's been in our care ever since. Like most canaries, she's not too fond of being handled. Tweety would be happy living the rest of her life in a calm forever home with someone who would enjoy her company and beautiful song, without handling.
Canaries are a small subspecies of Finches, and their daily upkeep is fairly simple and low maintenance.

Update on Danny the Corn Snake...

Danny has been with us for over 2 years now. At first Danny was a bit sassy and defensive, which caused some problems at times. But as time went on, we learned that he just takes more time to settle in than expected! After nearly a year of hard work and bonding in his foster home, he has opened up and become a very curious and friendly snake!
It's very sad when an amazing animal such as Danny is with us for as long as he has been. We would love to get him into the caring and loving forever home he so desperately deserves.

Everyone meet Cinnamon the Boa! 🐍
Cinnamon was surrendered to us in May. She had been dealing with some respiratory infections and a mite infestation for quite some time, and her previous family decided to surrender her to make sure she could get the care she needs. Since then our amazing foster family has been diligently treating her mites and we can now say that she is 100% cleared and ready for adoption!
Cinnamon is approximately 10 years old and around 6 ft long. She is a sweetheart and would make a great addition to any family who is willing/able to provide a big enclosure for a big snake!

Calling all sports fans!
Sports Trivia is TONIGHT Hitchhiker Brewing at 7 pm!
If you think you are an expert on all things football, hockey, basketball, NFL, NHL, etc, then come by to test your expertise!
Every dollar that is made during our trivia night fundraiser is used to care for the animals that our organization rescues!
There will be free draft beer for the winners of each round, raffle items, and lots of fun!
Entry fee is $10 per person. Work as a team or as individuals. Kids are welcome to participate as well!
