Got a call from a buddy that one of our friends needs help!! I was drawn in chuck swan. So I gave them an option to go get cash dog from the house or wait until I got there that evening.. he’s been with me on plenty of tracks to know how to handle cash dog so I continued my hunt.. got there that evening to see how it went and after talking to them they had tracked it over 400yds and jumped it . I asked if still had blood and they did so we talked about the situation and I decided we needed to start again just to see how it goes.. after 300yds still finding blood I see the deer as it’s trying to cross the fence. At that time I knew it wasn’t going to make it through the night coyotes were already in there with us. We continue to push and another 400yds and he had gave up..

Got a call from a friend/neighbor saying he’s shot a good buck and knows it’s a gut shot.. we talked about what to do and decided to go ahead give it 6hrs just to be sure. It decided to snow during that time.. sure makes those steep ridges interesting but 700+ yds later we were standing over the deer… 🦌 🦌🦌

Over the last 3 seasons I’ve tracked 6-7 deer in Hancock county and they were still running around when we was there.. so it felt good to break that curse. Those mountain deer are a different type of tough! Congrats to the hunter on a great deer 🦌 🦌🦌

Tough track this deer decided to circle back which is something they do often. Just usually not 3 different times all about 200yds apart…

finally after almost 3hrs of working it out cash dog found him right at a mile from where he was shot 🦌🦌

It’s been a tough bow season with tracking between the deer that’s still alive and the woods being so dry this find was much needed 👍👍

I would've bet anything on a liver shot, but Cash dog had to show me up on that!!!! Hunter said the buck was stumbling around, looking like it just rolled out of a bar, 12 hours later we arrive, and Cash takes us to the buck's favorite snoozing spot. To our surprise, he's still kicking, and after a 475-yard wild goose chase we finally find him swimmin in the creek bed.. 🦌🦌 shot was lower brisket/chest

A few days away from opening weekend!!! Definitely Something I look forward to as a tracker and hunter…

Always willing to help anyone who might need a dog.. even if it’s just a reassurance/peace of mind knowing ya deer isn’t laying dead somewhere.

Few tips I’ve learned from last 3yrs of tracking with ole cash dog..

• stay off that shoulder during archery season… shoulder shots are always the hardest just because they appear to be something they aren’t as the blood trail goes…

• listen to your gut if you think it’s a bad shot then it’s a bad shot!!

• while looking for your deer keep in mind if you’re thinking about calling a tracker. Don’t make your situation worse by grid searching even if the dogs will figure it out it takes time.

• mark everything on onX or similar map and take pics of blood..

Those are just a few things to help trackers and yourself if ya get in a situation where ya need one.

Time flies by when you’re having fun. 3rd season with this big ole knuckle head. Lots and lots of miles and hrs spent climbing up and down mtns. The best part is we’re doing what we love.. I sure appreciate everyone that’s trusted us to help recover your trophies.

We will continue to work hard to get better for the the next season.. I’m a true believer in never good enough always room for improvement. Cash dog as of now has 46 recovery’s for the 3 seasons we have tracked.. 18 on the year
Puts us at 46-83

This season was the toughest as far as alive deer. We went as far as 9-10 in a row that just wasn’t dead. I will say we try our hardest and sometimes to hard 😂 looking forward to the next season and again thanks to everyone.

Got a call from hunter saying he needs help finding a deer. That His lil brother had shot! Sounded like high shoulder shot. so I wasn’t sure if we had a chance of recovery. Well ended up being low shoulder. 260yds after last blood we had got on the deer.. It slowly gets up and bounced over the hill so we take off right behind it knowing we need another shot at it.. finally after few times of it outrunning us we get to finish it off. #17 shot with 270 total distance 1988yds

Old cash dog found another one last night!!!! Shot was far back in the back ham deer was quartered toward hunter so got guts/intestine gave him 12hrs before tracking and was able to recover him in a thicket. 🦌🦌🕵🏻‍♂️
