🦃 Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at the Sharon Vet! 🐾

We will be closing at 12 PM today (Wednesday) and will be closed for the entire holiday weekend so our team can enjoy the holiday with their loved ones.
We will re-open with regular business hours on Monday, December 1st.

As you celebrate, please remember to keep your pets safe by avoiding these common Thanksgiving foods:
🐾 Turkey bones – They can splinter and cause choking or internal injury.
🐾 Skin & fatty scraps – Can trigger pancreatitis and stomach upset.
🐾 Stuffing (especially with onions, garlic, or herbs) – Onions and garlic are toxic to dogs and cats.
🐾 Grapes & raisins – Can cause kidney failure, even in small amounts.
🐾 Chocolate & desserts containing xylitol – Highly toxic to pets.
🐾 Yeast dough – Can expand in the stomach and cause serious complications.
🐾 Alcohol – Even small amounts can be dangerous.

If your pet experiences an emergency during our closure, don't hesitate to contact Tufts Emergency Hospital in Walpole.

Wishing you and your pets a safe, cozy, and joyful Thanksgiving! 🤎🧡🐶

👻 Happy Howl-o-ween from Sharon Veterinary Clinic!
While your pets might look spooktacular in their costumes, here are a few tips to keep them safe tonight:
🐾 Keep candy out of paw’s reach (especially chocolate + xylitol treats!)
🎃 Choose comfy, breathable costumes that don’t restrict movement or vision.
🚪 Watch those open doors — trick-or-treat traffic can make it easy for pets to slip out!
🕯️ Skip real candles in pumpkins — wagging tails and open flames don’t mix.

Have a safe and tail-wagging Halloween! Share your pet’s costumes in the comments — we’d love to see them! 🐶🐱🦇

Wishing you a howl-oween full of fun, frights, and furry delight. Stay safe out there tonight! 🌙🐕

Sadly, someone brought in a handsome male black and white cat. He is not microchipped or neutered. If you are missing or know of someone missing an intact black and white cat, please do not hesitate to give the clinic a call at 781-784-7554.

The fall season brings cozy nights and early sunsets, but it also means darker walks with your pet. Keeping them visible is the best way to stay safe! Reflective collars, leashes, and light-up gear make it easier for cars and people to spot your furry friend, while adding a little extra sparkle to your stroll. Stay bright, stay safe, and enjoy those crisp autumn evenings together. 🐾✨

🍂 As the weather cools, your pet’s activity and metabolism may shift. Keep them healthy by adjusting portions if they’re less active, sticking to a regular feeding schedule, and always providing fresh water. Watch for changes in weight, appetite, or energy, and reach out if you notice anything unusual!

Fall yard work is great for the garden, but it can create hidden hazards for pets. Fertilizers and pesticides can be toxic, sharp tools and debris can cause injuries, and even moldy leaves or compost piles can make pets sick. Keep supplies stored safely and supervise outdoor time to keep your pets protected this season. 🍂🐾
