Emerald Egg Farms Welcome to the farm! I currently have a flock of egg layers & breeding pens for a couple other breeds.

We have a full vegetable garden & hopefully next spring, we’ll be offering goat milk products.

Today we went to Howard Farms to pick strawberries as my own personal patch is not yet large enough to produce anything other than the occasional ripe berry. Y’all! This is a great year for strawberries! Filled 4 gallon buckets in less than an hour (strawberry shortcake here actually filled one whole bucket on her own!).

If you are local to this farm, please give them a visit! Super friendly, great prices and the harvest is bountiful! I know that strawberries are cheap in the stores right now, but it’s worth the time and eff now to get a bunch and pop some in your freezer so you won’t be paying inflated prices in the off season. Food for thought…

So we’re doing something new this year on the farm… we’re trying Bresse! This is a French breed of meat bird that is supposed to have a better meat quality than other commercial crosses that we’ve tried in the past. I’m already excited because these guys are only 3 weeks old and are a good size. Thank you Sonni for breeding and selling this amazing meat bird as an alternative to other commercial crosses!
