We opened our doors in 2014 and expanded to a newly renovated store front in 2019 with all new state of the art equipment and cooling systems to keep your pets comfortable. We offer organic all natural , medicated and hypo allergenic shampoos, flea removal , de-skunk baths, deshed treatments, hair coloring and nail clips. We hand dry and fluff every dog so you get the best possible haircut. Our groomers are proficient with all breed standard cuts , skin issues, health issues, and animal behavior. Robin- Salon Owner and Groomer, graduated the CT School of Dog Grooming in 2003. After that she worked under many master groomers for 12 years , including a Veterinary hospital for 8 years, perfecting her craft of grooming. Robin decided after 12 years in the field that she would venture out on her own and open The Grateful Dog Grooming Salon, which has been operating for 9 years. Robin has 20 years experience as a groomer. Shes had a passion for animals since childhood, growing up in a household that was always filled with animals. Shes owned several Rottweilers and has a cat named Chester. Aside from grooming, in her spare time, Robin loves to cook, travel and see live music. Mandy- Groomer- Mandy graduated from grooming school in 1996 in South Carolina, where she was born and raised. She has worked in Veterinary Hospitals and groomed and managed dog boarding facilities for 16 years. Mandy moved to CT in 2003. Mandy has 27 years experience in the field. She has love ,compassion and patience for all animals. She has a dog named Timmy and a bearded dragon named Lucky . She loves to get to know the pets and clients and strives to make each pet and client comfortable and happy. Mandy enjoys her days off with her son Patrick , who keeps her even more busy with school and sports. Franchesca- Groomer- Fran started her grooming journey at Petsmart, where she trained as a bather for 6 months . Her love for animals motivated her to become a groomer and she attended grooming school. Shes been a groomer for 10 years. Fran owned her own salon before joining our team at The Grateful Dog. Today she always strives to be compassionate, patient and loving with each pet. Her goal is to create a safe and fun enviroment for each pup. In her free time, she enjoys music, healthy cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. Otto- Bather- Otto came to us in 2016. From a young age, Otto was always surrounded by animals . He has a strong bond with all of the dogs that he works on. Most of the time, clients tell us their pups are excited to " go see Otto" . He has a gentle touch and is compassionate with every dog that walks through the door. Otto has 7 years experience in bathing and hand drying. He has a cat named Chester whom he adores and administers diabetic medication to twice a day. In his spare time he enjoys collecting cards, traveling and cooking on the grill. Brittany- Bather- Britt has been one of our bathers since we opened our doors in 2014. Robin met Brittany in 2011 when they worked together in another salon where she was the bather. When Robin opened in 2014 , she knew Britts work ethic and compassion for animals were top notch and added her to the team. Brittany takes great pride in her cleanliness and thoroughness of her job. She has 16 years experience as a bather. She has a puppy named Cole, whos become the mascot of the salon. In her spare time, she enjoys boating, hiking with her dog, cooking and restoring furniture.
