It is one week until the sky lift opens! We're here at Harper Bros. Mountain fine-tuning details so starting April 10th, we can bring you the best experiences on the smoothest lift and the best views in the Smokies! Just drive behind the Harper Bros General Merchandise Store, park, then walk up the small trail beside the big red barn to the little red barn, and you'll see what we mean.

We're at 4149 Wears Valley Road just minutes from Pigeon Forge on Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., with the last Hawk SkyLift ticket sold at 5:30. That is, as always, weather permitting of course.

Starting April 10th, discover the magic of the Smokies with breathtaking views on the smoothest and most serene ride on the Hawk SkyLift at Harper Bros Mountain. Once you reach the top, savor the moment while enjoying complimentary water and a MoonPie.

While you're here, don't miss our extraordinary Harper Bros. General Merchandise Store where we not only proudly serve Starbucks, we also have art, antiques, stained glass, home décor, EDC gear and pocketknives, as well as snacks, drinks, apparel, souvenirs, and so much more! The HBGMS is truly a destination all on its own.

The Harper Bros. General Merchandise Store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm at 4149 Wears Valley Road. Harper Bros. Mountain, located just behind the General Store, welcomes visitors Wednesday through Saturday (weather permitting) from 11 am until 6 pm. Please note that the last single rider ticket is sold at 5:30 pm.

Remember, Harper Bros. Mountain's operation is weather-dependent, so if the weather turns frightful, we may have to close. But on a beautiful day don't miss out because to the mountains you must go!

The Smoky Mountain chapter of the Tennessee Police Benevolent Association and the Police Benevolent Foundation are asking for your assistance in financial support to the family of Deputy Greg McCowan of the Blount County Sheriff's Office.

On February 8th, McCowan was shot and killed during a traffic stop that he and a fellow deputy had initiated. During the stop, the driver opened fire on the two deputies. McCowan was fatally injured in the encounter, and the other deputy was shot in the leg. She was able to return fire as the suspect fled on foot. She survived the shooting.

McCowan has been a deputy with the sheriff's office since 2020. In April 2021, he received a lifesaving award for his part in saving the life of a man who was trapped in a burning vehicle.

He is survived by his children, Cayley and Cayden, granddaughter Ella, his mother and father, and his fiancé Leah.

It’s almost football time in TN! Here in the South, we take our football very seriously. So that means every Saturday we will have televised games on our TVs both at The Hawks Nest and the porch at the horse barn. Make plans to join us, and get the best seat in the house to watch your favorite teams! 🏈
