The Holcombe Family Farm

The Holcombe Family Farm Small family homestead producing our own grass fed beef, vegetables, fruits, herbs, and raw dairy products. Inspired by the Weston A. Price Foundation.

A modern family homestead, including a cow-calf operation producing natural, grass fed beef as well as hand milked grass fed raw milk which we turn into our own cheese, whey, kefir, ice cream, and butter. Small irrigated pasture managed by rotational grazing and sustainable principles. Large kitchen garden fertilized by organic compost we produce on site. In 2011 we tracked our garden produce usin

g local prices and produced just over $2400 worth of food! Berries, fruit trees and herbs are also part of the mix.

I think it’s interesting that people unknowingly consume a lot of filth and gross things in packaged foods and meat purchased from the store, yet have “concerns” over home raised or home canned food. Maybe out of sight, out of mind🤷🏼‍♀️

Brace yourselves, America: Many of your favorite foods may contain bits and pieces of creatures that you probably didn’t know were there.

If you live in Northern Colorado, we’ve got some dear friends that are looking to rehome a wonderful indoor/outdoor cat that is a stellar mouser. They are moving long term to Mexico and need to find a new home for Poppy, a 5 year old spayed calico female cat. The ideal situation would be an indoor/outdoor, as she loves people and is very affectionate and would be sad to only be outdoors. She is large, and a great hunter, so would be a good fit if you are looking for a mouser. I know Poppy personally and she is a sweetheart, very friendly. If you are interested, message me and I will put you in contact with Sarah. Here’s what Sarah wrote about Poppy,

“Hi Cathy,
I’m writing this with tears in my eyes but we do think it’s best to keep Poppy here in Colorado and are praying for the perfect home for her!
Poppy is a 5 year old calico cat who we rescued as a kitten from a foster organization. She is up to date on all her vaccinations. Poppy is quite the hunter! She is the perfect balance of an indoor cuddly cat and mouser! She catches critters large and small, baby bunnies, and of course lots of mice! She loves to roam around but stays relatively close to home. She has been raised with 4 young kids and a dog. We don’t think the concrete jungle (city life) and risk of many strays in Mexico, where we’re moving to, will be the best situation for her. We will miss her so much!
We are looking for a home that will be patient with her transition to a new location and family (she loves her people). Time in one room to start, then the whole house for a while and slowly transition to outdoor/indoor. This is the best way to insure she will bond to your family and stay with you once she transitions to being outside.
Here are some pictures of our Poppy girl..!”
