***THE BOONE COUNTY DOG POUND IS LOCATED AT FOSTERVILLE PAST SETH ON RT 3. ADOPTION FEE IS $50. THE $50 GOES TOWARD A VOUCHER THAT YOU CAN GET YOUR NEW ADOPTED DOG SPAYED OR NEUTERED. THE DOG POUND WILL GIVE THIS VOUCHER TO THE VETERINARIAN.

Acts 1951, c. 69.

§ 19-20-8. Impounding and disposition of dogs; costs and fees

(a) All dogs seized and impounded as provided in this article, except dogs taken into custody under section two of this article, shall be kept housed and fed in the county or municipal shelter for five days after notice of seizure and impounding has been given or posted as required by this article, at the expiration of which time all dogs which have not previously been redeemed by their owners as provided in this article, shall be sold or humanely destroyed. No dog sold as provided in this section may be discharged from the county or municipal shelter until the dog has been registered and provided with a valid registration tag.

Happy St. Patty’s Day from this amazing crew at the Boone County Dog Pound! ☘️🐾

These sweet souls are still waiting for their lucky break, and there’s no better time to spread a little love and kindness their way. Each one of them deserves a second chance, a warm home, and someone to believe in them. 💚

This Thursday from 4p-6p, we’re hosting a Volunteer Pound Day, and we would love for you to come out and spend some time with these dogs.

Whether it’s a walk, a few treats, or just some gentle attention, it truly means the world to them. Seeing new faces brings them so much joy and helps them come out of their shells.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, this is the perfect opportunity. Come make a difference, even if it’s just for an hour—you might just change a life.
