1. Flush your garden hose before spraying your dog
Water sitting in a sun‑soaked hose can reach scalding temperatures. A quick flush prevents accidental burns on paws or skin.
2. Check metal crate latches and gate hardware
Metal heats up faster than you’d expect. A curious nose nudging a hot latch can get a painful surprise.
3. Watch for “heat pockets” in fenced yards
Corners with tall shrubs or solid fencing can trap heat with almost no airflow, making them hotter than open sun.
