🚨 Heat Kills – Don’t Leave Your Pet Behind! 🚨

Even just a few minutes in a parked car can be deadly for your pet. On a 95° day, the temperature inside your car can soar to 120° in just 15 minutes — and keep climbing!

🐾 It’s not just the car—pavement and asphalt can burn paws too!

At 85° outside, asphalt can reach 130°

At 95°, it can hit a blistering 155°

🔥 If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.

July 4th (and the Crowley Celebration of Freedom on July 12) is approaching. 📆

Independence Day activities are consistently the leading cause of animal shelter intakes throughout the year. To ensure your pets' safety, please verify that they have microchips and identification tags, and establish a plan to keep them securely indoors.

⭐️At the Crowley Animal Shelter, microchips are only $10 (including registration)! Call 817-297-5160 to schedule an appointment for your pet to get microchipped. You do not have to live in Crowley to have your pet chipped by the Crowley Animal Shelter⭐️

If your pet experiences extreme anxiety due to loud noises, such as fireworks, consult with your veterinarian promptly to discuss potential medication options to alleviate their distress during this holiday period.

CODE RED 🚨

The Shelter is filled with furry friends. Visit the shelter this week and receive half off on adoptions starting Tuesday and Wednesday. If you're a rescue, please call and schedule an appointment. Visitation hours start at 10:00 AM. We will be closed to the public on Thursday and reopen on Friday. This Friday, our community engagement features a group of volunteers. Thank you for your support of SDAS.
