We are down to two last dogs from the close of our rescue. It's kind of fitting that they were the first and last intakes of our organization.
Champ was brought in as a young pup destined to be a bait dog. We've worked with him and got to know him over four years however it is time for him to move on. He's a large dog that loves humans and is quite content just sleeping on a living room floor. Champ loves rope toys and has a habit of sticking his butt in the air and clapping his teeth when he's being angsty. He can get along with a friend however he has a strong prey drive that has made him hard to place in a forever home. We really would like to find his perfect match.

Finegan was our last dog rescue of last year. He's good spirited, goofy, and a secret lover boy. Due to mistreatment from humans and heavy wound on his leg, he can be very timid and gets scared easy. He wants a quiet rug to lay on, some toys to chew (he's a chewer), and someone to laugh at him when he's being silly.

These two brown fur, black snout boys have all their shots, are neutered, and have been leash trained. Please help us close the book on our rescue and send these guys to a home where they can live out their days. Rehoming fee applies which will be redirected to Kingdom Rescue .

This is one update I've been struggling to write and have been avoiding.

After 3 years of pouring our hearts into saving, healing, and advocating for the animals of Guadalupe county, who needed us most, Liefie’s Rescue will be closing its doors. This decision has come with hard feelings, long conversations, and heavy hearts. Our little rescue was built on love, determination, and the belief that every one of God's creations deserves a chance and together, you helped us make that belief a reality.

To every supporter, adopter, foster, volunteer, donor, and fellow rescue who stood beside us: thank you. You’ve shared our posts, opened your homes, sent encouragement during the toughest cases, and celebrated every happy tail with us. None of this would have been possible without your kindness. We have a few cages and materials left over that we'd like to donate to other rescues.

As we take these final steps, we have one last wish

We still have three wonderful dogs who need loving homes. They’ve been part of our journey, and we want nothing more than to see them safe, cherished, and starting their next chapter with families who will adore them. Each one was rescued from cruelty and euthanasia. If you can open your home or help us share their stories one more time it would mean the world to us. There will be a few follow up posts of each dog as next few days come. Anyone who has follow us will know them as Beauty the female Great Pyranees/Marema, Finnegan the black mouth cur, and Champ the boxer/black mouth cur mix.

Even though we are closing, the love we’ve shared here doesn’t end. It lives on in every animal saved, every life changed, and every person who believed in what we were trying to do. I'm moving on to support nonprofits in my IT work through Hambisana IT and we will continue to help animals in the community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our family.

Just a reminder that we are not doing the charity/giveback night this evening - it has been gifted to another nonprofit and our hope is that if you are planning on going you still go to support them :)
