Last but absolutely not least, this is Honey π€
Honey is a cattle dog that came to us as a foster. She was a rescue with a heavy past, the only thing we knew was that she had spent most of her life confined to a crate, day and night. The kennel environment was overwhelming for her. She was extremely reactive, barked constantly, and had a bite history. Because of this, only three staff members at the shelter were allowed to handle her.
The shelter was a non-kill facility, but Honey was one of the very few dogs where difficult conversations started to happen. She wasnβt getting adopted, and the kennel life was breaking her.
So we brought her home.
We worked with her, gave her time, structure, and understanding and slowly, the real Honey started to shine through. What we found was not a βproblem dog,β but a deeply sensitive, intelligent, and incredibly loving soul who just needed someone to listen to her instead of labeling her.
Somewhere along the way, we fell completely in love.
Honey is now a permanent part of our family. She lives with us and our dogs, plays, runs, meets people, and truly lives her life, something she never had before. She still has a little baggage, but donβt we all? Sheβs sweet, affectionate, and endlessly loyal.
Tony has already started agility with her, which she absolutely loves, and next up is herding, something weβre incredibly excited to explore with her.
Honey is proof that misunderstood doesnβt mean unfixable, it just means unheard π
