Blue is lovin the attention!

Good Morning! Blue beats me to the chair every morning. He is such a great dog but unfortunately heart worm positive. He will not be available for a few more months as he is going through treatment.

We finally got the big tarp up in Blue and George’s kennel on August 14th. Should have done this sooner but just found the LARGE tarp the day before. They were in total sun until the sun got behind the trees and it was HOT!!

UPDATE on our Heart worm positive boys. George (All black dog) will get his two injections on August 3rd and 4th. In about a month he will be HW tested to see if the worms are gone and if so, he will be available for adoption around the end of October. Blue, the heeler, will get his first injection on August 29th. He will get the last two injections the last of September. Tested again the last of October and if the worms are gone, he will be available the end of November. Let TT out with Doss. First thing Doss did was put his paw on top of TT. They did not stay out together long but each day will be longer together. Riker does not want to be in yard with TT.

08-19-25. Socialization time!!Two ladies come to the shelter from KISA on Tuesday and Thursday. One lady comes outside and socializes with the dogs. I usually have all the east end kennels cleaned before they come so those doggies socialize with me. The other lady is inside helping John clean the kennels. THANKS for coming! The dogs love company.

Needing bids from locals for putting an awning over this sidewalk. Why? 1. It is hot during the summer and I sweat a lot as I am in the sun when cleaning the kennels. 2. I get wet when it is raining outside. 3. Sometimes during the winter, the sidewalk is covered in ice and snow. Yes, I have come close several times to slipping and hitting that sidewalk. 4. Maybe an awning will keep the snow out of the dogs kennels. 5. Once done, I might get some fence screen to hang from the awning help to keep the snow from blowing into the dog kennels during the winter? Once we get some bids, I might do a fundraiser to see if anyone would like to help pay for this.

I am THANKFUL that these dogs that got adopted and lived a wonderful life. I am Thankful that their humans keep me UTD.

These photos show what a GREAT people dog Lucy is. She only plays with her bonded brother Ricky and dislikes other dogs. Wish a dogless home could be found for them both. The siblings will have lived at the shelter for three years in December.
