Chautauqua County Animal Shelter - Sedan, Ks FOCCAS began in September 2012. Our dream was to have a new facility built. That dream came true in 2022 due to the generous donations of three families.

We moved six dogs from the old shelter to the new shelter in December 2022. Hwy 99 south of Sedan Small town (under 1,000) Two part time employees. Shelter hours are 9:00 to Noon. Monday to Friday. If wanting to meet and possibly adopt, contact the shelter to make arrangements for after hours or on the weekends. Phone number is 620-216-0022. The shelter is located at 921 Hwy 99 about 1/2 miles so

uth of Sedan. Big Blue metal building on the west side of the Hwy. Mailing address for the shelter and The Friends of the Chautauqua County Animal Shelter (FOCCAS) is PO Box 232 Sedan, Kansas 67361. Wanting to help with Transport and the Longton Dogs? Donations maybe mailed to CCAS Transport 403 East Elm Sedan, Kansas 67361. $150.00 adoption fee. Which helps to pay but doesn't totally cover the Vet bill. Which includes neuter/spay. Rabies, parvo, distemper. Heart worm test Given Bravecto for fleas and ticks. Sentinel for worms. There is a $25.00 surrender fee. This shelter has been a No Kill for over 10 years. We only take animals from Chautauqua County.

OCT 1, LUNA WILL HAVE LIVED AT THE SHELTER FOR 1,460 DAYS!!!! The Prairie Star will feature a dog from the Chautauqua County Animal Shelter every other week. Luna has lived at the shelter the longest. Thanks Theresa Thompson from Farm Bureau Financial Services for sponsoring the dogs and to Jenny Diveley from the Prairie Star for making a perfect ad! This shelter is full for intake!! We now have 19 doggies. Need to get some adopted and to their new home where they can be spoiled and live a great life.

NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF OCTOBER. The pups are possibly 3 1/2 to 4 months of age. Going to be big dogs when all grownup. Grey is 25. 2 lbs. Landon is 24. 2 lbs. Ellie is 23.6 lbs, and Harper is 21.2. They all got the DHLPP vaccine today and will another in about three weeks. They also got Bravecto for fleas and ticks and Sentinel for worms. Probably be the middle of October before they get neutered/spayed. Possible German Shepherd, Belgian Malinois or Anatolian Shepherd mix with some Great Pyrenees and maybe a little Aussie.

THANKS to all who have donated to the transport account. I now have four puppies to add to the vetting list for September. Up to seven trips maybe more to and from the Vet in Moline. I appreciate the help!! I have now have Venmo! -Powell-86. One trip done, lots more to come!

WELCOME to the Shelter! The four pups picked up on Hwy 166 last week are now shelter pups. They will be going to the vet this afternoon to be checked out, given first round of shots and get preventative. They will not be available until after they have gotten neutered/spayed. More info later today. I put their names with their photo. 2 boys. 2 girls. To the former owner, PLEASE get the female(s) spayed. We have $25.00 off coupons at the shelter for Chautauqua County residents to put toward the cost of getting dogs and cats neutered/spayed.
